That is more down to them not having the squad to cover for injuries or even just general fitness and rotation. Florenzi was probably the only player on the team who survived until the end of last season in good form.

Roma's defence actually improved when florenzi started at Rb. Mainly started to play there after Roma got demolished by Bayern. As we know, that scoreline didn't happen again.

Actually I would place Marchisio as anchor and Verratti on the side instead of De Rossi.

Italy have looked very good. I even saw SES go down the outside for once!!!.....but then he still had to use his right foot. Parolo and Verratti have been key and have dominated in midfield. Pelle has been outstanding as the target man finding the wingers and midfielders running off of him. Great movement, holdup play etc. Everyone in an Italy shirt has played well.

i love pirlo, but d rossi/ verratti is so much more balanced. add marchisio into the mix you got one of the best midfields in the world. the finishing from the front three has to improve this game isn't over.

This explains your love of Poli.....Florenzi is not a real midfielder and cannot perform the job that Parolo can. Florenzi is nothing more than an ok right back or defensive winger.
