On This Day in Football: Maldini makes Milan debut, League football on Sundays begin

On this day in 1985, a 16-year-old Paolo Maldini made his senior debut for AC Milan, coming on as a second half substitute in a league tie against Udinese.

You are sorely missed! :(

So we linked with only Conte and Sarri, and no Mancini etc... good news, both are really good. FM know what to do this time.

The situations of the clubs in the CL to Europa positions (with the exception of Juventus) makes it so frustrating the way that Milan has been out of the running for so long.

Napoli as the best of the bunch have not invested nearly enough to challenge Juventus properly and seriously lack depth.

Roma are about to sell key players mid season and have zero ambition or ability to be an elite club.

Inter have a history of imploding on themselves and their current squad seriously lacks depth as well.

Lazio cannot keep a hold of their top players and only stay in the running due to being well managed.

All of these teams can be leapfrogged within a season IMO with a good transfer window and some time to gel together.

If we were to get Sarri I want us to sign some of Napoli's key players and follow the strategy of weakening direct rivals.

We could've had him earlier.

4 coaches earlier...

and that would change nothing and everyone would be shitting on Sarri now, and Sarri would ruin his career and train somewhere in China now.

Lol. What i meant to say was that maldini on one leg would still be light years ahead of all our defenders combined. A player like maldini is born only once in a generation. Even the world's best defender of 2018 would be no where near maldini in his post prime level let alone peak maldini. Its a fucking mockery. Its a joke. Modern defenders are aboslutely trash.
Hell maldini at 42 is probably still better than all our defenders combined. Maldini and nesta in our team even at this stage of their lives would propel us to a top 4 spot. I genuinely believe they would.

There are a handful of players in the history of football that are in their own tier and Maldini is one of them. These dudes just can't be compared to anyone

Also, it might be nostalgia talking, but I don't think any present day defender would be considered a top player in the late 90s early 2000s.
