defensively he looked more than solid tonight. passing was bad. he usually moves the ball well but was bad today. couldn't deal with samp's early press.

I agree. Very average offensively for the most part but he's at least defensively sound and doesn't lose the ball much.

He is NOT the least of our worries. He should be replaced ASAP because fullbacks are important in football and RR is really average. He doesn't offer anything going forward and average at best in defence.

He's still frustrating sometimes, but he's performing at least twice better than he was last season. This summer he was ranked #1 in my GTFO list.
Despite being slow, he's a solid defender, plus he gives an important contribution in playmaking due to his ball control and passing skills.
We got him for 12m, today you get nothing for that price, and quality LB are not easy to find.

Good FB's makes life easier for the CM's and wingers as an extra outlet. Calabria/RR have been bad and add nothing to our attack. Conti coming back shows promise and if we get a proper LB our game will benefit from added options.
But I agree, RR isn't the first player I'd change - a regista is probably the most important thing for this team atm.

RR is solid back up option for top club.
If we want to aim higher than EL we need to improve LB position.
RR/Laxalt/Strinic are solid backups but not quality enough.

People who say fullbacks are not top priority should look at what Cancelo and Sandro were doing to us tonight. Very important positions...
We really need a better option than RR here. Sell RR+Laxalt + add some money on top and get a proper LB. Strinic was on bench tonight, so maybe he's feeling good enough to be our backup

it's quite funny to watch that though. his positioning was very bad today but he had much less help from teammates. there were at least three players constantly in his side.

In some ways we seem to have moved backwards because RicRod was our worst surviving player going into this season. Suddenly we have Castillejo worse than him and arguably Kessie also in that group.

he's been off form but should no way be sold unless a monster offer comes, and kessie would progress better if we had a talented coach at the helm.
