Did I just read someone saying Allegri was a great tactician?

So he will play a 3 man defense? OMG think of the endless new CB combinations he will be able to pull every game.

you're illiterate?

‘More imagination with Allegri’
- MArchisio
http://www.football-italia.net/54899/‘more-imagination-allegri’

Makes sense. Allegri is definitely more flexible than Conte. But that flexibility also had lack of discipline.

I know it's 'fun to pretend' allegri only likes workhorses (yes the man who would pick muntari over vidal i'm sure..) but it's not fact.

How often would players under allegri run wild and be out of position? If there was any criticism of him it's this.

“I’m used to moving between different roles, I am flexible and open to the changes. Against Milan I was played in the trequarti [area between midfield and attack], but it was not a classic Christmas tree formation - in defensive phases I was alongside Pirlo to provide cover.

“I try to position myself between the lines for when we have more possession. It is something different to the days under Conte, when we had a much more planned game. It’s a different idea - we have to work, but not so much.

“Allegri has made us understand that we will not dwell on a single formation - we have a list of quality that allows us to change identity during the game.

“With Conte everything was more planned and the results speak for themselves - three League titles in a row and two Super Cups. Now it is different, Allegri has a different idea of the game, as we saw against Milan.

“We work mainly on the possession of the ball. In Europe it works well, we saw it again last year when we faced teams with little to them - they played safe football, whilst we had some difficulties. This is the most important step to be taken.

“And will this improved imagination be best felt in Europe? Definitely. We often speak of our failure in Europe, but the first year we went out against Bayern and last time we threw away qualification against Galatasaray.”

This has been clear since day 1. Allegri wants 2 way players in general. He wants 1 mid holding basically and everyone else attacking and defending. He has a squad capable now.

I kind of feel Allegri is set up for failure in league just because, all teams cycle and he's following a popular coach BUUUT... i do believe he'll get them farther in europe.

The team, assuming it doesn't massively change, is set up much better for his type of football. He basically wants technical physical b2b mids.

Vidal, Pogba, MArchisio, Asamoah all fit the bill wonderfully. 3 of them with Pirlo or something sounds like what he wants

if he doesn't win the scudetto it would be a massive failure, even if he does reach CL semis.

euromax will win the double IMO, coppa italia will be ignored.

I agree with you. I'm just saying teams never win league forever. I'm just saying I predict a lack of focus in league while they aim for Ucl.

It was beneficial for them to not advance far last 2 years to keep league focus

Against Chievo, puts as a starter an 18 year old striker (Kingsley Coman) that Juventus got for free from PSG and who played very well. Unlike us, no rumour and fuss on the transfer and Juventus seems to have found a pretty good player with very good prospects and I'm pretty sure that with Allegri will grow well.

Good thing that they are packed in midfield, otherwise I'm sure they would have picked Rabiot as well.

?

Roma is a legit contender that has a system they've stabilized

Juve might struggle with a new system.

that said, Juve are still favorites. I just find
The adverb 'massive' a bit much.

here and there!
It's early to judge but Allegri is doing very well so far. Without, Pirlo, Vidal, Chiellini, Barzagli, he manages to win two games and two clean sheets, that's just good!

Allegri is a decent coach, i reckon they will reach the semis of ucl but wont win a title this year. Napoli to win the scudetto.

Allegri was always a good coach, fuck haters.

He pulled miracles out of his ass with a midfield of nocerino ambrosini and flamini 2011/12, let alone in 2012/13 where he was stripped of ibra and thiago silva and created El Shaarawy.

allegri is a very good coach who gets no praise for what he's done. 2011/12 should have been our title if it wasn't for the referee decisions which i wont mention

In an interview today Bonera said about Allegri "When he came to Milan, he was planning to play 4-3-3 but then because of the players at his disposal he changed it"

I guess that should put to rest the argument that 4-3-1-2 was Allegri's preferred formation ... I know, it's kinda obvious but some people need to have everything written black on white.
