Good test for Gattuso's team (without the national team) in the training match against Chiasso, a militant formation in the second Swiss division. At Milanello the Rossoneri won 2-0: goals from Suso and Mauri in the first half. These are the holders in the starting 4-3-3: Reina; Conti, Abate, Zapata, Strinic; Mauri, Montolivo, Bertolacci; Suso, Borini, Castillejo.

Milan was immediately the owner of the field, creating various headaches for the guests: first Castillejo with a fine shot, stopped by the low goalkeeper, and then Borini and Suso from the inactive ball came close to the advantage. Just Jesus, directly from the kick, hit the crossbar that turned into an assist for Mauri's tap-in on 22 '(1-0). The same Spanish outsider signed the doubling on 32 minutes thanks to a shot per lap (2-0).

In the second half the coach redesigned a 3-4-3 inserting Caldara, Biglia and Bakayoko in place of Mauri, Montolivo and Bertolacci. At 62 'Antonio Donnarumma and Tsadjout took over from Reina and Zapata. The Rossoneri have proposed a constant possession of the ball that has produced several goal-balls: the greatest dangers have come from the external lanes even if the crossbars are not knocked back into the goal by the attackers. Biglia, diagonal slightly to the side, and Castillejo, sinister from the limit, went one step closer to tris; only a hint of precision was missing. In the final there was also space for Haidara and Brescianini to make Suso and Castillejo take their breath.

Only friendly announced so far is against Feronikeli on Aug 10 - after ICC - but as joyrider said usually there are a couple before too. Like that Swiss club we play sometimes.

If that was the case, wouldn't that be announced by now?

There's 9 days until our game against Bayern in Kansas, so I would assume that the squad will travel to US in 3/4 days.

Only 4 out of 11 players aren't guaranteed starters in the team we have right now.

Second half, you can make a case for 6, but that's it. So yeah i'm serious, that was a poor result. We played against a Serie C team, in case you forgot.

The 1-1 result between Milan and Novara is misleading because the Rossoneri played the friendly in a very offensive manner, created a lot of goal-scoring chances and had about 90% possession. [via @AntoVitiello]

Giampaolo tried Castillejo as a second striker but was particularly impressed with how Suso acted as a trequartista - the Spaniard was always in the heart of the game. Overall, Giampaolo was satisfied and is happy with the progress of the work at Milanello. [via @AntoVitiello]
