Italy can't win the ball to save their life today. Embarrassing. How long can you stave off shot after shot on goal? But I think if Italy score once, the game won't be out of reach. Hell of a time for Insigne to pick up an injury.

there should be a rule.kinda like players who have played over 10 matches in a euro cup or CL shouldnt play in the u-21.

how about no over the age of 21 players?

italy have 12 players that are over 21 years old :lol:

Arbeloa offers nothing, I think DES or Abate are both better.

Ramos, Pique and Alba are all overrated. They are lucky they have a fantastic midfield to protect them.

Spain has more time of possession; however, it is not like Spain controlled all the game and their goals were impossible to defend. Reality is that the backline of Italy is playing terrible (Donati, Bianchetti, Caldirola :fp:

, Regini); their midfield cannot hold the ball (Insigne keeps trying to pass many defenders) and Borini again is more of a DM than a forward.

no way. pique and arbeloa are both overrated. Jordi alba is good at going forward, bad at defending. Ramos is good.

i think the rule is like u gota be 21 by the time ur registered for the tournament as in from the qualifications..so most guys turn like 23 by the time they play the actual tournament..

Yeah Spain's defenders, like Barcas tend to look better because they're not often challenged. Individually I don't think there is a great difference in talent between Italy's defenders and Spain's. Piqué and Ramos are more physically gifted than anyone Italy has but Italy's defenders are better at defending, just less talented. They're more disciplined and Italy's style of play is more compact and less open which also aids the squad. Italy defend better as a unit basically, Spain is much better going forward and have the edge in talent but not discipline.

Italy's approach against Spain in this match reminds me of Milan's against Barcelona in the Zlatan season second leg. Trying to do things too quick whenever they get the ball. Should slow down.

I think noboday rates that Italian backline, except for Chiellini. I like Abate because he plays for Milan.

Compare that to Italian defence in 2006. Definitely much better than Spain.

I was just saying that despite you guys saying that their defense is "overrated" it's superior to italy's defense.
