With 3 games to go they can't really overtake Serie A, can they?
I don't think so.
If Bayern win the two legs of the semifinals and the final they will get 1 point plus a bonus point (1) for Germany.
Even if Roma don't manage to win or draw any game, Germany can't catch up.
The thing that screwed over Germany is that one club didn't even qualify for the CL (and so Germany lost bonus points early), and one or two dropped out really early in the EL. Also, add this to the fact that Italy's point were divided by 6 and Germany's by 7.
Though there is only one Italian club left, Atalanta, Lazio, Napoli, Juve, Milan etc. all got points for Italy and kept pushing the coefficient up. Even Juve won their last game, ensuring that things kept ticking.
Things would have been much closer had Leipzig qualified yesterday, but both they and Lazio dramatically collapsed.
Not that this matters as much after UEFA's top 4 change, but nonetheless, next step should be to overtake England. It will be harder now that Italy has 7 countries competing next year.
