Ibrahimovic, Robinho and Cassano came as great bargains because of the situations at their respective former clubs. It's a great credit to Galliani that he was able to work out a deal for all three, but that doesn't mean that Milan is going to abandon its attempts at maintaining a sound financial footing to embark on a Madrid-like gallactico policy and rack up big debts. Milan will try to find good, promising players who will fit what Allegri wants to do at a reasonable price (at least in terms of today's silly market). If another bargain on a big name comes along, Galliani will pounce. Cesc Fabregas is not in a situation that creates a bargain, but rather a situation that would inflate the market. Arsenal wants to keep him and Barcelona is probably willing to pay over-market (as would Madrid just to trump Barca). I doubt that's something in which Milan would seriously involve themselves.

agreed, lets not splurge now, and cause more problems in future. we dont have other clubs treating us like manc, chelsea, barca and madrid and start ripping us off.

double

Seems like everyone here wants this deal for some reasons I obviously can understand, but most of you forget the financial aspect of the deal and its long-term impact.

Its sad to say, but money is the key factor for success today. So we should focus on smart deals (Witsel), invest little for, hopefully, big results. We should tend to that rather investing 60 milions in a one shot deal.

What if Cesc flops, or is average ? :fp:

Thank you.! Finally someone agrees with what I have been preaching since we were linked with Fab..we could buy one player that is serieA proven in say asamoah and possibly even hamsik..spending all that cash plus adding players is ******** unless your club is ballet status, I.e. Barca, Real and so on..

You speak the truth. I've been saying all along that it would basically take Kaka money to buy Fabregas (assuming he would even leave Arsenal for Milan rather than wait for Barcelona). That would be stupid. It was stupid for Madrid to pay as much as they did for Kaka (although they can better afford it).

Right actually this has been explained time and time again so il keep it short:

Bla bla bla bla bla...Berlu usually pulls a Rui Costa once every 10 years..bla bla bla...Berlu is stupidly rich.

I dont wanna look like Genoa as we did from 2007 to 2011 with zero investments just because Berlu tought he had invested enough since 2001.

Spending big for one player is stupid as hell.

This transfer can hapen only if Fabregas will say:Next season i want to play for Milan, maybe than we can take him for 30mil+Urby which is reasonable price in my opinion.

@ToonInvader - I agree with your assessment but in the same way dont you think 15 mil is too much for Witsel? I would think half that for a player who isnt going to fill the stands, isnt an attacker and isnt playing in one of the top leagues.

Perspective - We paid 7 for Prince who just had a great WC. United paid 6 for Hernandez.

He will never say that..he will say and has said he wouldn't mind playing for milan, but never will he say I want..that will always be reserved for barca..

That`s the reason why i said that, i really like Fabregas i think he is best MF in EPL but unfortunately he is IMPOSSIBLE for many reasons.

Would be the best transfer for us in a while and we made some great ones last year. Literally the perfect player for us IMO. This is by far the player I want most, I just never thought we had a chance but things at Arsenal look a bit shaky so if there's a time, it's now. Especially since barca aren't really pursuing heavily anymore. Next in line for me I would take Montolivo, I think if he comes to Milan it will be very easy to integrate into the starting lineup and provide some nice distribution, defensive cover, and long shooting in the midfield.

and there would be if we got pastore instead?? top quality players are expensive and if we want to win in the near future we can't put all our hopes on the development of young players although that is crucial for continuity...i have to agree with AZ on this, if Fab comes its b/c Berlu makes it happen and the rest of mercato is G finding clever/cheap/saavy buys

dude, as long that berlu is in politics he can't make any donations to the football club, and it's has been likethat since he's prime minister

if we buy player they should be around 10-15mil

unless we put in flamini, bonera, oddo....(other oldies)

ps : i wouldn't recommendpastore either: he's superb but let him stayat his club for another season

Not really. He is in politics since 94. He was PM from 2001 to 2006. There was an election going on when he bought Rui Costa.

I would say it's more likely the other way around, while Silvio is in politics he will not stop to invest in Milan. He uses Milan to comunicate and sell his image as politician.

Anyway there was another factors here on the last few years, there was a global economic crisis, Milan had budget problems, specially with wages and so on.

His family can. And so can the board on his company.

And you all should stop thinking we shouldn´t spend 50mil on one player we should rather buy 3 for that money :fp: :fp: :fp:
When will you guys get it in your head that we will buy a WC player or NO ONE AT ALL for Berlus money... he loves big names and he wouldn´t throw away 50 millions for 3 unknown WC players.

Football is his way of staying on top of the Italian politics which is the most important thing for him. Buying Fabregas will get him some percentage of votes... buying Witsel, Ganso, Asamoha will NOT! You think he is doing this for Milan fans  Maybe a bit but with buys like this he is covering his own ass by raising popularity.

Berlu :star:

He will get us a gift and if all of you continue being idiots by saying we shouldn´t spend on Fabregas but should buy someone else... then fuck it... you deserve to be called idiots. It´s his money.
And I for one will enjoy his gift.

dude, wake up

Do you think Berlu will crash 60milions just like this ? Off course it would have an impact on the hole transfer budget.

The gift would only be a little top up to reach the 60 milions. How much money do you think he'd give ( assuming he can/is allowed) ? 30milions ? :fp:

It'll reduce our budget as hell, we'd say goodbye to interesting prospects ( Witsel, Poli, Constant), also to tecnical counterpart that could be used to better purposes, we even might sacrify some of our youngsters...

Lord, it so obvious ! :conf:

And then if we get zero results and do nothing to fix things you'll be the first to complain about the lack of investments...

What will you say in 2013 if we dont win anything ?

You'll ask for changes.

And there wont be any. Cause we spent 60milions on a freaking single player.

Then you'll remember the good old days when we were in 2007,2008,2009,2010.

1) We have G, we wont spend that much on one player.

2) If we get Fabegas then i dont get how you could think so negative when the least we could achieve is a domestic title or even a double.

3) If we get Fabregas, i dont think people would ask for changes in that department for the next few years at the very least, even a half fit Fabregas is much better than many of the other comparable WC CMs...

4) What was so good about 08 to 10?

No way in hell we spend 60 mil on him, we wont but him for that price, no chance in hell. Whoever comes will come for a reasonable/low price but if it's a big name, their salary is going to be the jaw dropping part.

exactly, +1 above here

G can give us some money and familia berlu too

but a gift of 60mil...ppl who believe that are crazy

berlu already has alot of jurydicial cases going on

if he gives too much from mediasat or T.I.M. e'll be the first to lose so investments (transfer+ wages)

of course cesc is a super talented player but we can't risk that amount of cash after we had to wait so many years for a scudetto

Where is this figure of 60 mil coming from? Obviously no player is worth that much and the rumors have been half this amount

sonny...you want pastore AND nesta replacement for 30 mill...pastore alone will cost around that much

on a side note...everyone stop using the facepalm in every post, it really diminishes the effect
