i mean, i dislike pirlo as much as the next guy. he shouldn't be regarded as a milan legend as it'd embarrassing considering what he's said in his book.
but in a pure footballing sense only, the guy is a master and one of the biggest reasons behind the success of ancelotti era. he's not inferior to any player in that team. he makes a team click like few others.
just the fact that he revived his career after moving from milan speaks tons and tons. milan's got to admit, our fault was to not build the team (midfield) around him post 2007. not doing that and letting pirlo go for free was another one of galliani's huge mistakes as manager for this club.
Agree w/ this post.... the bolded part is 100% true. That team was such an awkward centralized fit which only worked cause of Pirlo. Even then it had it's downfalls cause of awkwardness.

and post 2007 i completely agree. Infact post 2006 the vision should have been clear, seeing what he did w/ italy.... 2 forward (kaka playing off CF or when kaka left something similar) and a 4 man versitile midfield w/ Pirlo holding it together.
Instead we went for vanity signings like Ronaldinho etc.
Funny thing is, if he doesn't get hurti n 2010-11 i bet he stays and Seedorf leaves. He was starting and had good form in midfield w/ Flamini, Gattuso, Boateng and Zlatan and a forward
