So, you guys have read what Maldini said about Bonucci?

I know he's a very good defender, but I watch too few Juve games to really know what he's about. But putting him in the category of best defenders of the last 20 years?

I think it's not a stretch to say he is one of the best in the last 10.

Quality Italian defenders have been scarce recently, and a lot of the ones who showed promise fizzled out. Like Ranocchia, for example, who played with Bonucci in Bari, and who was vaunted as being the next big thing.

Bonucci is the real deal. We are blessed.

The thing about Bonucci is that you can't just judge him on defending and leadership, which he's very good at. You have to take into account his exceptional vision and passing skills. He gives a team such a unique and valuable weapon that at times it feels like you have an extra player in possession.

to an extent its true though tbh. But bonucci performed better than both in the UCL. The former 2 were more consistent in the classic scudetto league.
