Anything you recommend Jam thats a bit on the dark side/adventure and doesn't have the power of friendship shit in shonen?

I watched Berserk movie on Netflix and loved it but i heard the new Anime is mediocre so i'm on the fence about committing to that

Hmm dark adventure... Berserk is the first thing that comes to mind, by movie I presume you mean the Golden Age trilogy, there's an older Berserk Anime (1997) that's pretty good.

Closest thing to Berserk is said to be Claymore according to a lot of people, I personally haven't watched/read it but Ultra Swan likes it.

You might like Akame ga Kill, more Shonen-y than Berserk, but R-18.

It's getting 25 episodes this season, so the Sports Festival and Field Training arcs for sure (so we'll see a certain villain appear :g:

)

I doubt they get to the Camp Training arc. The pacing would be too fast.
