I really hope that it is just an accident rather than some act of war--Lord knows that Lebanon could do without a war on top of all the trouble they are going through.

This is a terrible to thing to happen. The videos showing the explosion are so scary. It just engulfed everything near by.

May God be with the people of Beirut.

There are two theories:

1- Israeli airstrike on hezbollah missile shipment containers.

2- a huge stock of sodium nitrate wasnt stored in a safe way that got a chemical reaction due to welding near by.

No one knows what's going on but its really bad.

@Neruda is everyone ok back home?

Yea man... been at work all day and couldnt get anything done properly

The #2 looks the more likely as many sources from Beirut came out saying they already knew about this and it was discussed 6 months ago but no one did a thing.

I also wouldnt be surprised if it was Israel. They ve been teasing each other for a while now

It would have been better if its a strike over an accident due to stupidity & corruption.
I dont think its a strike or sabotage.
Seems its theory # 2 of what diavolo suggested.

It's insane how the attitude regarding such delicate things doesn't result in even more accidents, it's just sad.

Funny how Italian talents never go for anywhere close to what their owners demand. Its not like Man City or someone ever goes for the Chiesa or Belotti types.

I'm not surprised. I read a lot recently in the situation there with the currency collapsing and high inflation, it's a disaster and Lenanon needs urgent help. The virus and then this on top... absolutely appalling situation :(

How do fireworks lead to the second biggest explosion since Hiroshima? Is the latter even true by the way?

Idk what the criteria is being used, but definitely sounds off. If it is the size of explosion..many hundreds of nuclear tests surpass this one obviously. God forbid it is casualties caused by an explosion since hiroshima

Sky: Serge Aurier has accepted Milan's offer. But there are two problems to solve:
1. Milan want to sell Calabria first.
2. Tottenham want 20M, Milan offers 15M.

Nagasaki was the more powerful of the 2 explosions dropped on Japan, and the most powerful bomb every detonated was 3000x stronger than Hiroshima. So no, unless they were considering in only densely populated places when it might have been third after Nagasaki and Hiroshima.

It seems like a firework factory caught fire and then caused the high explosives in the next warehouse to blow up. :(
