We are miles behind these guys.

Its sad...

not really, just take out 2 of our slowest players and replace them with faster ones (not brainless chickens), the fluidity would increase and you will see that other players improve along the way

Messi just floating past Inter like it's nothing and the perfect pass to Suarez. GOAT skill.

Leo scarcely passed a fitness test some hours before the game, and then he goes on to do that. From midfield. Simply magnificent from Messi.

There will never be someone like him, ever again :star:

This reminded of our 2-2 Barca game in 2011.

Random early goal -> park the bus -> fail to exploit the numerous counter opportunities Barca give away -> Barca turns it around eventually.

There are 3 big differences though:

1. We equalized at the end.
2. The 2011 Barca were a lot better than the current one with an unfit Messi, Suarez in twilight years, an out of place Griezzmann & underwhelming midfield and defense.
3. That Milan side were treated like an ultra defensive provincial team that got lucky, whereas this Inter is praised as if they went toe to toe with Barca tonight.

They are still far away from being a great team.
They have very good individuals though. Especially defensively.

Don't be surprised if Man City beat Atalanta 6-2 or something like that today.

Don't be surprised if Man City beat Atalanta 6-2 or something like that today.

Unfortunately I think this is the likely outcome.

They both will try to impose their game, but City will bypass the Atalanta press and attack them quickly. Will be interesting to see if Gasperini adapts and reduces the chaotic nature of their gungho pressing style in which they try to make it a game of duels and transitions (which they are the best in Italy at doing and Liverpool are the best in the world at) against teams that they know can't cope with that level of intensity.

You see them play a more controlled possession based style to reduce the number of transitions sometimes and that is the gameplan to use here. Also, the man marking high pressing, other than on goalkicks should be curtailed a bit here. Let's see if Gasperini adapts a bit while still keeping them dangerous when they attack.
