The sad part is, this guy's fkn serious about his formations. It's official, I want to meet this guy and Scout Milanist(if any of you guys remember him). I'm voting for them in the awards. I want to see how much of a bunch of simpletons they are.

No offense but you really shouldn't come down on mASStermark like that. I know I joke about him all the time, so I should be the last one to say anything but this sems to be to personal and direct....He lives (allegedly) in Slovenia so I'm hoping that what we interpret as utter stupidity is actually a break in communication/ translation :)

anyway here's the drucurl approved formation:

---------------Dida------------
Zambrotta-Nesta-Bonera-Jankulovski
----------Pirlo-Flamini---------
---Kaka------------------R80---
--Pato--------Sheva--

i know ambro isnt a right back, but really why not. good work rate, decent passer, good aerially, defends. And i like what he brings on set peices

or the only used in south america 3-3-3-1

-----bonera--nesta--kaladze-------

-----ambro--pirlo--flamini--------

yeah I like this formation, but i need an opinion here from you Dru. What if we slotted Pato deeper almost on the same line as Kaka and ronaldinho. Sheva's played as a lone striker many times before, and he actually excels in those situations. Kaka and Ronaldinho can switch wings to confuse defenders and do their stuff. Pato often likes to drop deep into the misfield to help. By pushing Pato deeper, we have more wide options, hence being a constant threat down the middle and the outside. I'm not a big fan of the rectangle everyone has got going on in their formations. the 2-2-2 idea doesn't work because defensively it doesn't provide much and offensively players will get caught in each others feet. What do you think dru?

i like the 4-2-3-1 you speak of with ka-pa-ro having freedom. I just worry, is it too much freedom.... 3 'free flowing players' can be genius and also frustrating

4-2-3-1 and the 4-2-2-2 looks good on paper but they do not favor Kaka and Ronaldinho as both were tried by Brazil.

brazils 06 team had problems beyond kaka and dinho not being able to adapt to the formation and play together... playing together week in and week out they could perform well in either of those formations

I would like to know what do you guys think about 4-2-3-1 formation, which Carlo mentioned he must improve and make it stroger?

IMO this formation would work playing at home + playing against smaller teams. We could start with Flamini, Gattuso or Ambro in middle and Ka-Pa-Ro behind a lone striker (my choice would be Borriello, because I think he deserves a chance after last years performances). So without Pirlo and Seedorf.

Against bigger teams we can play 4-3-2-1 with Ka-Pa-Ro upfront and Flamini, Pirlo and Ambro in middle.

Oppinions?

That would be my choice also....though I think Dinho should play the same role as today and not as a ST as his advantages as a playmaker are too good to be thrown away....otherwise good formations and I hope Carlo is reading our forum!!! :D

Judging from the first game at home I have decided we should play with the following formations Home and Away in the first few weeks before Sheva, Senderos, Kaladze, Borrielo and all the slackers/ players who didnt play preseason find their form:

Home Games:

Away Games:

I think that 4-2-3-1 formation against smaller teams should work for us but we all must know that 4 players (for example Kaka,Dinho,Pato,Borriello) wouldnt participate in defending which means we could find ourselfes in trouble even against smaller teams. Carlo should work hard on this formation and "teach" offensive players to track back at times when needed + defensive appartment shouldnt go and attack at all costs.

A 4-3-2-1 formation on the other hand is more solid in midfield and with Ka-Pa-Ro in attack it should work fine against big teams, when we cant attack at all costs.
