yes Baoule are part of the bigger Akan group which originate from Ghana.

but unlike the Malinke who have remained pretty much the same in all the countries they are (same culture, language...) the Akan from from Ghana and Cote d'ivoire pretty much grew apart. language is different, still share similar culture ... you've probably seen pictures of Del piero in IC with a big gold Crown, Cane and wrapped huge fabric around ... thats some of the traditional things you can find in both countries' Akans ... but the link is not as strong as the Malinke have with Malinke from other countries.
