Is this flu as world ending as some make it to be? No, but you cant tell me the most important or second most important global economy got shut down over a "flu".

The flu was a fucking serious disease, but we have countered it over the many years thats why people think its normal.

Here we are talking about year 0, with a contagius rate where 1 person infected a whole cruise ship or even spread it out to hundres of people like S.Korea, which flu does that?

These are first world countries imagine Africa, eastern europe or latin America.

Yes and no.

Coronavirus has a 9% mortality rate so far.
Flu has had a 5% mortality rate in 2019.

Source? Coronavirus currently is around 2% mortality rate while the typical influenza is < 1% Depends which country you look at though, as those with weaker healthcare systems are much more likely to have higher rates but on a global scale those figures seem very off.

Did you guys see the second angle for the Ibra goal? It was clearly not a handball.

https://sempremilan.com/video-appears-to-show-var-got-ibrahimovic-handball-call-badly-wrong

Absolutely ridiculous.

It was handball on the Fiorentina player!!

Milan TV has discovered a frame and brought it out. The ball hit Ibrahimovic's chest and then ACF Fiorentina's player's hand and not Zlatan Ibrahimović's. This goal was also wrongly rejected.

Problem with the virus is also that most information everything is based on comes from China and therefore isn‘t trustworthy. If they could they would have swept the whole thing under the rug.

Look up it, the info is out there. SARS/MERS are it's closest relatives in terms of viruses. It's good to see precautions are being taken by the government, even if it impacts fans from seeing the game at San Siro -- it's gotten worse today alone in Italy and likely to keep that trend for a while longer.

I got nothing against the precautions, just pondering about the thing in general.

This shit is getting ridiculous. It's like they don't even care to get it right, we just get fucked over and over again.

During the game, I had said that from one angle it looked like it didn't even hit his arm. I know the rule is pretty clear that if it does touch a player's arm in the build-up (in any way) then it's not a goal. But I felt like it didn't even touch his arm.

Of course Milan’s home game will have no fans this week. Why couldn’t Milan be away at like one of the top four or something lol.

Because this is Milan. Nothing is going our way. Not much luck, many injuries, fucked by the refs left and right and now this. Typical Milan. Now the club is losing like 1,5 m because of the closed doors game. Like this will stop the virus. Pretty sure the weekend will be as lively as usual. Full restaurants and full clubs

Hey boys. So I'd like to shed some light on the whole coronavirus thing

Like some posters mentioned, the virus doesn't actually have much higher mortality than your average influenza (otherwise called the flu). Both are approximately 2%, although the reports for corona vary in accuracy.

So most people who get infected with the coronavirus, just like the flu, will not die. It would just be a tough upper respiratory tract infection that'll be quite annoying but will resolve on its own. The people who die from the coronavirus are usually elderly individuals with underlying conditions that may have compromised their immune system or vital organs. Infants would also be at risk. These people would also be at risk of dying from the influenza though, and that puts the mortality rate for both at around 2%.

To put that into perspective, SARS (which is a type of coronavirus) had a mortality rate of 20%. E. Bola had a whopping 50%.

So if it has the same mortality rate as influenza, why is everyone worried about it so much more?

The reason for that is there's a vaccine for the influenza, but no vaccine for corona. So we still don't have a way to protect the people at risk from catching the virus.

So let's assume we have a stadium full of healthy young fans, and a few of them catch the virus. They'll be fine. Their grandparents or their newborn infants may not be, however.

Do you really believe what Chinese Communist Party is saying?Chinese people are under huge censorship, anyone who want to show real situation in China is detained.Doctor Li who was whistleblower for Corona virus is dead ,35 years old. How is that in Iran already 50 people died, and even them are under dictatorship. In Italy 6 people died and it's not even a week since first case appear.
This virus is very serious and the whole world will be affected by it.Self quarantine is only solution for now,and Europe need to prepare because it will spread fast from Italy .

100 milion people are under quarantine, major cities are in lockdown.CCP is only interested in money and power, they don't care about their own people.
They own WHO, WHO should already have declared world pandemic, but they are afraid of Chinese govrnement because it will slow Chinese economy, which is already happening.
How Communist party treat their own people, best example is that they want people to go back to work, they simply don't care. They treat ordinary Chinese citizens like slaves.

so do you get vaccines for each influenza? If its not more dangerous than the rest, then why take vaccines for it.

Yes, there are yearly influenza vaccines (because the virus is always changing). It isn't more dangerous, but it's dangerous to certain people. If there's a vaccine that can save that 2% then why not?

Nothing to chill man.
Italy, February 20 - 4 cases
February 21 -21 cases
February 22 -79 cases
February 23 -157 cases
February 24 -229 cases

That is pretty small fry compared to the flu, this is data from a paper in the International Journal of Infectious Diseases:

In the winter seasons from 2013/14 to 2016/17, an estimated average of 5,290,000 influenza cases occurred in Italy, corresponding to an incidence of 9%.

More than 68,000 deaths attributable to flu epidemics were estimated in the study period. We estimated excess deaths of 7,027, 20,259, 15,801 and 24,981 attributable to influenza epidemics in the 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17, respectively.

These are some number from the year after that, 2017-18, which was a particularly bad flu season in Italy:

There were some 832,000 flu patients between January 8-14th, according to the National Health Institute’s virus monitoring service, making a total of 3,883,000 cases since September 2017.
