Hey boys. So I'd like to shed some light on the whole coronavirus thing
Like some posters mentioned, the virus doesn't actually have much higher mortality than your average influenza (otherwise called the flu). Both are approximately 2%, although the reports for corona vary in accuracy.
So most people who get infected with the coronavirus, just like the flu, will not die. It would just be a tough upper respiratory tract infection that'll be quite annoying but will resolve on its own. The people who die from the coronavirus are usually elderly individuals with underlying conditions that may have compromised their immune system or vital organs. Infants would also be at risk. These people would also be at risk of dying from the influenza though, and that puts the mortality rate for both at around 2%.
To put that into perspective, SARS (which is a type of coronavirus) had a mortality rate of 20%. E. Bola had a whopping 50%.

So if it has the same mortality rate as influenza, why is everyone worried about it so much more?
The reason for that is there's a vaccine for the influenza, but no vaccine for corona. So we still don't have a way to protect the people at risk from catching the virus.
So let's assume we have a stadium full of healthy young fans, and a few of them catch the virus. They'll be fine. Their grandparents or their newborn infants may not be, however.
