As we've recently been link with these two players with Tevez closer in negotiation. Yet I wish we can sign Honda for better marketing strategies as I know Honda's name is huge in Asia. Don't get me wrong, Tevez is a great player, would be a great addition to our team who can even lead us to higher achievements, but splashing out around 10mil really worth investing? Especially when we were suppose to be concentrating on building the young team? Feel free to discuss.

lol just re-read, kinda contradicting myself in the favoring Honda instead of tevez in saying Tevez doesn't fit in the youth project as Honda is 27, but Honda will still come cheaper/free

Pro Honda:
- Honda will make our merchandise exploit in Japan.
- He will be cheaper.
- He will have lower wages.
- Our budget will not get into the red within next two years.

Pro Tevez:
- Better player than Honda.
- Workhorse which means Allegri like it.
- merchandise and seats will sell in Milan.

if we loan vergara to torino or somewhere else, can it open 1 more slot non-EU?

IIRC, inter did that some years ago with julio caesar....

in an ideal world, where our management doesn't get fiddled into accepting big money sales...

even when robinho and bojan leave, we still have Niang, Stephan, Balotelli and Pazzini (currently injured) for two striker positions. we'd only have saponara for the CAM position. therefore, it would make sense under these conditions that the ideal choice be Honda.

Ideal choice = Honda.

Good choice = Tevez.

I can't choose, so I voted for both :lol::lol:

yeah we all know that milan ain't lack of forward, be it quantity or quality
but in milan transfer world, ideal is signing at least 1 forward :o:o
it'd be scary if tevez joins jube and they throw their garbage to milan (read : matri) scaarryyyy :fp::fp:

this vergara dude, is he our new gabriel ? wasting non-eu spot in his first season ?

No. As far as I know, it is only two non-eu signings per season.

Out for a walk.
Honda for the long term. Tevez wouldn't stay that long, two seasons max, as he wants to go to Boca Juniors, but Honda I think would 'settle down' a bit more, could easily stay several seasons.

Sounds like another Robinho. I would hate to have another unmotivated player on high wages after 1-2 seasons

Honda ... players like Tevez, Robinho, Cassano are great as long as they're motivated... once that goes down, they start slacking.

if we loan out vergara do we open another non eu spot?

if so the get both Honda and tevez and loan vergara to torino plus give torino traore and maybe cash for ogbonna and everyones happy .

vergara seems good but at least on loan we get to see him play rather than wasting a non eu spot for the bench again like we did with Gabriel.

the next year we get vergara back if he's worth it and we have Ogbonna as well

Honda. We desperately need a CAM and we're covered in the attack. Plus, if Tevez comes, Pazzo/SES will be sold and Petagna, Niang or Ganz will not play 1 minute.

This is stupid.

They are different types of players. Honda is a midfielder, much superior to Tevez as a versatile playmaker. I even say one of the best mids in the world. Tevez is a striker.

Honda will not be cheap. You are underestimating CSKA, a very proud club that do not sell any of their players cheaply, especially Honda.

Wrong, he is not comparing their roles, he is comparing which player would benefit Milan more in terms or input investment and output potential. Also Honda's contract ends this end of year, so he either come cheap or come free only factor would be coming sooner during the coming transfer season or next year January.

What do you mean by cheap? Cheaper than what? Cheaper than Tevez?
Don't bank on that. Some interested clubs were rumoured to be rebuffed when they approached. The transfer fee quoted was 20ME in April or May this year. Milan will be very likely to miss out if you think Milan can get him free in Jan. Too optimistic, might as well concentrate on getting Tevez and force him to play as the trequartista.

Does it matter if we sign Vergara as long as we dont register him to play with the senior team this season ala Thiago Silva for 6 months?

We should not register him and keep our two spots open. It doesnt matter if we signed him as long as he is not registered for the new season.

He cannot help us next season so we should not register him

I think you are missing the point here. The only reason that we sign a cheap non-EU player is just so that we don't have to sign non-EU players that can actually be useful (hence expensive).

Tevez in a heartbeat. Versatile, workhorse, loads of experience, a champion. :g:

IMO Honda is average player, he only give threats from set piece. His right foot is as weak as Antonini's left foot.
