Season could be over by the derby. Punishing schedule but I really like it. No more stretches of games against lower table teams where we collect 2 out of 9 points.

There are some tricky games.

1. In Montella's case, the fourth game against Sampdoria due the Giampaolo connection.

2. Game against Sassuolo. Our dark horse.

3. Game against Empoli. Game after the derby.

We probably need to pick up as more points as possible in the first round since we all know it will take a while until the players adapt to Montella's system. Definitely Montella need somebody savvy with the ball like Montella had in Sampdoria (Cassano)

They lost Giampaolo, Paredes, Tonelli, Rui, Zielinski and close to lose Sapo. Will fight for relegation.

Both Sarri and Giampaolo were trying to build a culture at Empoli. Now the assistant manager Martusciello has taken over and he's very likely going to continue with the same approach. Players are secondary, Empoli is a club with the wisdom and maturity to finish midtable.

I hope they do.

We might not be in the UCL... but our season could get interesting with the fixtures around mid to late February.

I'm fairly optimistic. Serie A has gone to shit, competition for 2nd and 3rd is wide open. It was possible for a good chunk of last season, and it'll be even more achievable now with a coach like Montella.

I think we'll get fucked by the big boys, but do much better against the small teams that sit very deep. Montella is the total opposite of Mihajlovic, in terms of style. Viola didn't have a better squad then us, I believe, but he took them to three 4th place finishes, because he knew how to deal with those annoying small teams.
