Orgasmic stuff.
That looks good on paper but do they have the financial power to do that? I can only imagine how much the wages are like there. They also just lost Puyol to a serious knee ligament problem which means they need some cash to sign Chivu. On top of that...the managemt would have to deal with a lot of egos.

They're offloading a couple of duds, incl. Saviola + Gudjohnsen. Giuly will also get the boot. Most likely Deco will be replaced with much cheaper Y. Touré... + it's not like Barcelona is a poor + struggling club... LOL. Clash of egos ? Not my prob.

Saviola is leaving for free and they wont make much out of Gudjohnsen or Giuly. They also wont get much out of the Deco transfer because he is already 31-32 (it will probably reduce the money spent on his wages). You listed 4 players that could leave....Saviola, Deco, Giuly and Gudjohnsen and you are replacing them with 2 players. That would reduce the squad depth and if you have injury prone players like Henry, Messi, etc..you need a big squad. They also need to splash out on their defence especially since puyol could be out for a couple of months.

If they do sell it'll probably be Ronnie (our wise and prudent owner has already said he'll pay max $$$$$$$$$$.)
I'm still not convinced that ol' Bucky is the best fit for us but since we can't seem to learn how to wheel n' deal in the market....

Saviola has been pocketing a nice paycheck all those years...

Anyway, it doesn't matter because Barcelona are a fucking RICH club + if they need reinforcements in other departments I'm sure they know how to get them.

End of.

Thierry Henry Joins Barcelona For £16m
Thierry Henry has agreed to join Barcelona in a deal worth £16m, which is expected to be confirmed over the weekend.

Catalunya Informacio are claiming that Thierry Henry will sign a four year contract at the Camp Nou.

Henry, 29, almost moved to Barcelona last season, but eventually decided to stay at Arsenal after the Champions League final defeat to the Catalans, seeing promise in his young Gunners.

However, David Dein's departure, another disappointing season for Arsenal, and little chance of the Gunners spending big money in the summer, have together combined to help him make his decision.

Barcelona re-activated their interest in him a couple of months ago, after he publicly vented his frustrations over Arsenal's lack of competitiveness.

Reports have been doing the rounds since, be it about his agent holding talks, or Wenger himself speaking with Barcelona, but it looks like a definitive solution has finally been found.

Arsenal wanted to have Samuel Eto'o included in the deal, but the Catalans insisted that the Cameroon international was not for sale.

The Gunners will, however, be richer by 24 million euros as a result, and Henry himself will make the same sum over four years, at the rate of 120,000 euros a week. The player will travel to Barcelona over the weekend to complete a medical, and put pen to paper.

The move completes Barcelona's desire to put together the best attack in the world, with Henry, Eto'o, Ronaldinho and Messi sharing the three starting spots up front.

Barcelona are also expected to sign Christian Chivu and Yaya Toure in the coming days as they look to move quickly after losing the La Liga title to Real Madrid.

£16M !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats all! Daylight robbery, what the hell were Arsenal thinking! More importantly what were Milan not doing in putting in an equal bid!

Barca to win everything next season with him.

It will be a disaster, smelling like the Galactico mayhem all over again. No player playing in his natural position (Henry a left winger again? Haha!), too many egos and sharing of responsibility, a coach far from able to control all that, no squad balance, defensive shortcomings... Add to that Henry's inability to show up anywhere besides Arsenal under Wenger's tutelage, I expect him to play a lot more similar like he does for France, than the wonder of Arsenal. Oh and dont forget he's become increasingly injury prone of late...

I know I'd like to see Etoo or Dinho coming over here with this, and the possibility sure is bigger (lets hope Suazo rejects Milan) but as it seems unlikely for Laporta tp give them up I'd be satisfied with seeing Barca crash and burn the next season.

I'm willing to take a bet that they will win nothing next season, AGAIN! This was not a way to fix their problems this year, actually it was the opposite way of doing that. Its not all about players big names yknow.

And we're spending £14m for Suazo. Sounds like we're manipulating the books once again...

And now we are losing Suazo, who might be preferring Inter, but to tell you the truth am not that angry the fact that we are losing him.
As far as we bring a great player(probably it wont happen seeing that bastard(Galliani)is not doing what he has to do) this season and i would like to see a good defender rather than a good striker, because eventhough i have doubts about Gilardino but we should give another chance.
Going back to the topic, its frustating to see Henry go to Barca with this fee, we could have offered them much better than what Barca has offered.
Am starting to think that Galliani has lost the way how to do it, he might do good Milan if he resigns from his position!!
