Age is one factor, I definitely don't see him making significant improvements in his game unless he takes significant time off to just train.
Another one is mentality. What bothers me is the amount of talking Woodley has done in public whether its regarding how he's promoted or drama with other people. It would be one thing to talk all that shit but constantly improving yourself (like Connor), but I think Woodley genuinely thought he could ride his current skillset into GOAT status

He clearly was not prepared to be getting himself out of those clinch and close-quartered positions, and his gameplan to "prevent" those said clinches and takedowns was basically to do what he did which was not do anything
. For someone who is a division 1 wrestler with as many accolades as he had, I sure was expecting him to impose himself on Usman.
