Askren and Dana both confirmed that it would be "Marty" and Colby next.

Lol what is Askren confirming? He needs to not be scared and confirm the Lawler rematch.

Woodley talked all that stuff about the difference in D1 and D2 wrestling

Age is one factor, I definitely don't see him making significant improvements in his game unless he takes significant time off to just train.

Another one is mentality. What bothers me is the amount of talking Woodley has done in public whether its regarding how he's promoted or drama with other people. It would be one thing to talk all that shit but constantly improving yourself (like Connor), but I think Woodley genuinely thought he could ride his current skillset into GOAT status :fp:.

He clearly was not prepared to be getting himself out of those clinch and close-quartered positions, and his gameplan to "prevent" those said clinches and takedowns was basically to do what he did which was not do anything :fp:. For someone who is a division 1 wrestler with as many accolades as he had, I sure was expecting him to impose himself on Usman.

I think how he reacts from this fight is key. Time to get off the Twitter and back in the lab.

he needs to cut that rap bullshit, little Hollywood gigs and tmz stuff. He is also a commentator for fuck sake. How the fuck are you going to beat a guy who does nothing but train specifically to beat you when he has no other distractions. the ball is in woodley's court. Manage his time better or stop some of his activities and train if he really wants to be called a GOAT.

Just wondering though, did gsp ever get himself involved in other activities like tyron does? in his prime I mean. Lets say until the Diaz fight for instance?
How can you remain a champion if you are focusing on too many things simultaneously. Maybe it explains Rhonda's decline too. Connor is a fine example too. dominant champ like Jones don't get involved in other activities. kebab's life revolves around fighting 24/7. I mean how do you beat a guy who literally does nothing but train?

Cormier is a freak too. Works as a commentator and has a few part time jobs as well. Those part time jobs may aid him though cause it's a wrestling cosch gig.

Marc Goddard gave Tyron Woodley every chance he could to stand up and land a big shot. Many of those stand-ups were undeserved.

I just want to say this, I don't see why people marvel over jon jones.

even when he knocked out DC*, he was losing every round and then boom, head kicked DC because DC is 5'9 and jon jones has the length of 9 legs.

I will never argue the fact that he's a smart fighter who utilizes his freakish length very well, but when he has so many lackluster performances in his resume, it's annoying when people ram down this narrative that he's a GOAT who wrecks everybody.

he couldn't finish anthony smith ffs, this dude is an OK fighter in MW.

* obviously on steriods
As for the finish, it's been discussed to death. One thing though, Cruz was absolutely incorrect in that because the arm was over his face there is no chance of Lawler being choked. You absolutely can go out from being choked over the face, especially as hard as Ben was cranking and as good of a grip as he got on Robbie's head. Herb made the right call for me.

im so sick of mma fans bitching over every hard ref call

his arm went limp and he told askren to let go and that's when lawler woke up.

is it weird to see someone lose to a bulldog choke? yes, but doesn't mean it wasn't a legit win.

side note: I'm not a fan of cruz as a commentator, comes off as cunty and obnoxious, DC >xinfinity cruz

I would really like to see Bones vs Romero. He is about the same height as DC but he hits way harder.

I'm not saying he is better than DC, i just would like to see what would happen when Yoel unloads some bombs on Bones.

would be interesting but if yoel fights DC. DC would maul him. clinch pressure wrestler with iron chin, power and speed. DC would trounce yoel and I love both. Jones should beat Yoel via decision comfortably imo. Despite Yoel being athletic, freakishly strong and flexible, I just don't see how he beats Jones because Jones's cardio is probably the best in the game.

Jones roids u mean :)

I know the odds are in Bones favour, but mainly due to his length not cardio.

But in DC vs Bones we often saw DC not being able to close the gap fast enough to do any real damage in the clinch.

With Yoel, if he turtles up then fires a shot from hell, i can see him knocking Bones out cold.

I really believe strikeforce HW DC at his physical prime can beat Jones. That dude was a monster.
anyway HWs like ngannou, prime Cain, prime jds, juiced werdum, stipe all beat Jones comfortably. styles make fights. Jones can't beat guys heavier than him and have especially if they have the length to match his size. he is a reach abuser like Connor.

Tony being actually insane is not a shocker but the story is still very saddening. Hope he gets the help he needs.

Poor TJ, guess he is not friends enough with Dana to pull the old pictogram defence.

TJ always looked juicy with that hint of gyno and those abdominal bumps. Remains to be seen what he popped with and if his people can get him off the hook. Who is representing him anyway? It's not Kawa or Ali afaik.

fighters need to stop cutting so much weight. it really isn't a benefit. I have cut weight before and trust me the feeling sucks.
You are not in your optimal condition. Yes you may have a size advantage but you are less durable especially when you get hit to the head.

either way WB was piecing Pettis up until the ko. Imo Pettis has no chance against wrassslers.

While Pettis had a decent strategy with the leg kicks and waiting for his opening, i'd wager that it wouldn't work 9 times out of 10.

WB was too tentative, he should have went in for the kill a lot earlier. But that's his style i guess, and when he got a little bit too loose with his dancing around, he got ko'ed.

Shame really, he is one of the few specialist that are so high level.

And yeah Pettis will get murdered against wrestlers, he has no business at this weight.

That's the problem with counter attacking strikers, and they usually don't have a plan B.

That and there is a very small margin for error for that type of strikers who moves about in that way.

I don't think Pettis has any real future in the 170 division either.

Apparently they have been investigating him for months.

I thought Conor's story about how his woman supported him was really beautiful, so I too hope that this is false alert.

I initially thought he was pulling a negotiating tactic, but damn that's some serious allegations against him.

If he is guilty..well i hope the girl gets a really great settlement deal, cause he most likely won' see any jail time.
