We're facing Spezia on Saturday and Atletico midweek next week. Several players should be considered rested for this match, primarily Diaz because there's no backup. Theo looked exhausted and unfocused yesterday, as did Kessie. Time to let young players/available subs shine.

Focus should be on securing a result in the first half and then rotate players for the second half. The crux here is to balance the resting of players against the best strategy for securing an early win. That might be fielding the strongest possible XI. Get minutes for as much of the squad as possible and then regroup for Spezia(where some players should also be considered rested - though some of the injured players should be back).

Post concrete updates on expected recoveries as they come in.

They were piss poor against Juve and we look to them to deliver goals and assists. They're not paid to only run and lose the ball.

Yes, maybe he'll be able to play some part in this one. We have basically no idea how Pellegri will perform, I'd hope to start Giroud and bring Pellegri on, otherwise Rebic to start again and Pellegri to come on. Really shit to be missing OG from back pain and Ibra for a sore tendon after playing for 30 minutes both for multiple games at the same time, ridiculous.

Otherwise I agree with starting FBT and Kalulu, maybe give Gabbia his first minutes of the season later in the game.

Hard to judge. Seems like they like risk pushing forward and leaving space, but they might adapt at the San Siro and go for a much more conservative approach.

There's no reason to make wholesale changes in one game. We have two games to rotate in, so Bennacer for Kessie tomorrow and maybe rest Theo and Rebic for Spezia if Giroud is available. Really hope Giroud is back tomorrow as then we can play Rebic and Leao for a half each and rest them both. I worry we're might start to burn them out.

Brahim needs to rest a game too, Venezia might be the right game for him to rest though as we can play 442 at home without much risk. So probably we rest Brahim, Kessie and hopefully Rebic (if Giroud is back) tomorrow, and then rest Theo, Tonali, and Leao on Sunday.

We have Pellegri, FBT, Giroud and Bennacer all available to rotate in these positions. We should use that depth now as we need the starters to be fresh for Altetico next week.

Kill the game early and then keep the ball to close the game, that will save some fatigue too.

It sucks with all these injuries, this is the exact stretch of games that Maldini signed these depth players for and we still can’t play them. Eventually they will prove their value but it is annoying this has happened so early in the season.

I’d think florenzi, Kalulu, pellegri,ballo toure, Maldini even samu are due some minutes either this game or next. Not necessarily starting but just a cameo to save some legs for the key players
