I guess I should re-post my write-up on Onyadika from earlier.
------
I can provide a little information on Onyedika, as I am following the Danish league closely.
He is a key player for Midtjylland where he stepped in smoothly after Frank Onyeka was sold to Brentford one year ago. The reason why Onyedika might already be ready for a big move is exactly that – how he took over without problems. The year prior he was loaned out to a club in the second-best Danish division, and he killed that league. Was much better than all his opponents and was rumored to be of interest to clubs in bigger leagues, even though he had not even played for Midtjylland yet. However, it was still surprising that he could take that dominance with him to a title contender.
He plays a little like Kessie. Onyedika also has a big work radius, and he is good at reading the game, so that he can interrupt the opponent’s play before it gets too dangerous. I don’t think he is as good on the ball (not even close, actually), but seeing that he has grown in almost every possible category throughout some years, I think there is a good chance that he would also improve in that aspect.
Personally, I would not buy Onyedika. He undoubtedly has talent, and he has shown that he can grow with the challenge, but in my opinion, he has too far to go to be relevant for a club like Milan. The step is simply too big, especially seeing that he would probably be asked to step right into the rotation. However, I also think it would be a mistake to automatically rule him out because he plays for a Danish club. The Danish league is certainly not as good as Serie A, but the two-three best Danish clubs could easily play in the middle of the Serie A.
My guess is that he would cost somewhere between 7-9 million.
Some of you like Jean Onana of Bordeaux, and in my eyes, that also seem like more of a Moncada-signing. I don’t know about him myself, but from your descriptions he seems ready to be counted on right away, and I don’t think that is the case with Onyedika.
