That is molto

Shame Jack is out maybe we'd have seen him in that Giaccherini role vs Germany

Honestly I'm very surprised at how much hate Italy gets. The expectations are very low and people love to throw around "this Italian team is very low on talent." This is not true at all, except for striker which could be Italy's downfall.

The team checks off on most of the areas you'd want, good coach, experience mixed with upcoming players, great core. In Italy you have maybe the best back line in the world, at least top 3, and even talent to take over that area in emerging centerbacks like rugani and romagnoli. They are set in defense, which is what you'd expect.

Midfield the core is again, extremely solid. Verratti is an amazing player already and one of the best midfield talents to come up in years. Marchisio also is an underrated player, and having him fit will be huge. Throw in some experienced good to very good players like montolivo, Thiago morata, and some more and that's a very good midfield. Not best in the world but just below it, certainly only a handful of teams can claim better players here.

Attack is where things are different. I used to think Italy lacks game changers, but with jack, insigne, candreva, maybe el sharaawy depending on his form, that should be fine to make a deep run in a tournament. Not world class there, but those players can definitely impact a game. Striker is the only area Italy basically sucks in.

But really, Italy has a spine that will make the team difficult to beat against anyone. The problem I potentially see for them will be scoring enough goals to actually win their group and get a favorable draw. But top to bottom Italy is definitely still a great team. Don't understand why they are overlooked at all.

Elmayonesa 29-03-2016 19:21

Candreva and Insigne/El shaarawy are fine, but they are not no9. I don't see any good pure striker in the squad. As for now, Pelle and Zaza looks like the best options.

And I agree. Every line, gk, defence, midfield have world class players.

In the euros:
gigi
bonucci-barzagli-chiellini
florenzi-marchisio-verratti-antonelli
candreva-pelle-insigni

If De Rossi included, then him instead of marchisio.

Yes. I'll be glad if we even make it past the group stages. Self inflicting wounds

Fucking Gach and Bern are starting. What they fuck have they done to warrant it? Acerbi? When has he ever performed on a bigger stage?

I'm fine with experimenting. But this is shoveling shit and hoping itll turn to gold

Bonucci in a nutshell when it comes to his defensive capabilities. Always saved by Chiellini and Barzagli. When they aren't around, he is just simply "BonBon" (BonError).

He is basically David Luiz with two great CB to always have his back when he makes an ass of himself.

Everyone was raising him to the skies after that touch to stop the ball from reaching Higuain to score. He did that same trick two months prior to that Napoli game, against Carpi. Guess what happened there. Own goal. He just got lucky this time.

Just as overrated as Luiz was before he was exposed for what he really was. I hope BonBon goes to Chelsea with Conte. Lets see this "Master CB" do his thing without his saviors at Juve.

conte will do well this summer + I hope beelan sign him.

Buffon conceding 4 goals in Munich again :lol::lol::lol:

Too bad Niang is injured or we would have retired Buffon in the Coppa final.

Losing to a team that lost to England is a disgrace.

Conte doesn't have a single clue about coaching.

In friendlies?

Silly lineup from Conte.

Bundesfodder on the other hand using this friendly to get revenge for the WC/EC semi losses.

milanicious 30-03-2016 02:08

Conte lost 4-1 to a team with a 2 man midfield of Kroos and Ozil. :proud:

Ahh when Montolivo, Cassano and Balotelli took apart anti-Milan favorite Hummels and the Germans, extending the winless streak to 8 competitive matches against Italy... memories :proud:

Sage 30-03-2016 15:27

maybe balotelli can do it again this summer...oh wait

Doesn't Germany win all friendlies against Italy?

joyrider 12-04-2016 16:36

Genoa's Mattia Perin ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament and will not be available for Euro 2016.

Donnaruma should be the replacement
