It's better for them to face Spain as early as possible in the knockouts, before they run out of gas, like in the last Euros. But it's still 50/50 at best for Italy.

For Italy's sake, I hope it isn't decided on penalties. Buffon has the penalty saving skills of that cuckletico goal keeper oblak. Usually has to rely on post to do the saving for him. I doubt he would make a penalty save like the one that was made today.

:thumbsup: especially the second part. Buffon as a penalty stopper sucks balls. I have said that before and all these salty italian fans are in denial and they will go to insane lengths to prove that he has a better penalty goal saving ratio than his contemporaries. Quarter of those bogus saves can be attributed to posts and the bar.

Yeah. 20 of them hit the post or were missed. Had nothing to do with him and more to do with quality of penalty takers in serie A. When u have guys like Prickardi and Balo who have laughable conversion rates , this is bound to happen that certain gk stats get inflated.

Only noteworthy save Buffon made was Mutu's against Romania in euro 08. Otherwise meh.

Let's just hope Gi Gi Oblak is subbed if the game goes into a shootout .
