ESL teams will probably have to vastly overpay for players. Many clubs will surely even refuse to negotiate with ESL clubs. Also Milan are the poorest club of the bunch and will remain so the first few seasons at least.

We will not buy DeBruyne or Sane. We will buy missing links for our current set up.

My issue with current CL is that there are way to many small teams and uninspiring games during the season. Teams who don't belong in CL and have nothing to do there.

Watching elite clubs going at it every week sounds awesome to me.

omgggg spartak moscow won a CL group stage game agains real madrig... this is what football is all about.

fuck you! no it isn't.

Prediction: Our entrance in this 'Super League' will mean the prospect of signing players like Dybala is suddenly realistic, and not some pipe dream like it has always been.

My prediction :

With 12 teams committing, it should be enough to make seria a, la liga and epl irrelevant, and create a pathway for other leagues and CL to the same inevitable outcome regardless of any pushback by uefa or domestic league authorities.

The remaining large clubs refusing to join will face the harsh reality that money will dry up soon. Sooner or later they will also have to change their business model to be a feeder club to the super league teams. They can't hold on to talents because the incentive to play in CL against big teams has been stripped off. They also won't make enough money to be able to retain talents.

The new reality for the super league will be quite similar to the nba in the sense that all the best talents in the world will want to compete in the super league for the money and prestige. The role for other leagues will only be to identify and supply talent to the super league. If teams like bayern/psg won't commit, they will end up like fenerbahce or some euro basketball club supplying luka doncic to the nba.

The only way super league doesn't move forward is if uefa bends over and give more money to the clubs.

MN: That's why the 12 clubs decided to found the Super League

What is the reason that prompted the 12 clubs to create the SuperLeague. "The creation of the Super League comes at a time when the global pandemic has accelerated the instability of the current economic model of European football," the statement read. "Furthermore, for several years now, the Founding Clubs have set themselves the goal of improving the quality and intensity of current European competitions throughout each season, and to create a format that allows top clubs and their players face each other regularly ".

A split created to safeguard the very existence of football in Europe, which is now collapsing especially after the arrival of the pandemic. "The pandemic highlighted the need for a strategic vision and a sustainable approach from a commercial point of view to increase value and support for the benefit of the entire European football pyramid".

Fueled by greed? And uefa isn't?
At least with this the clubs will get most of the money. A bunch of uefa cucks in here.
And uefa tried to level the playing field to give smaller clubs a chance? Lmao! They did the opposite of that. They cemented the status quo and ensured that the richest clubs stayed firmly on top
I have read a lot of valid points against ESL. That UEFA is trying to do something for the people, fans and staff of the minor clubs and that ESL is undermining their oh so noble plans is none of them.

100% agreement here.

UEFA and FFP have been the biggest farce in European Football since ever. Rich clubs got richer. Poor clubs got poorer. It cemented the status quo as you weren't even allowed to invest big in order to try to close the gap. And for us Milan fans, this has been the story of our past decade, really. Even if you put all valid points against ESL - seeing UEFA, one of the most corrupt organizations on this planet besides FIFA - being fucked really puts a smile on my face.

And under the false excuse of "making football for the people" UEFA kept and keeps widening the pool for participating teams. Why? Because more teams mean more games which means more games to sell to TV broadcaster, more ticketing revenue to take from the clubs and more money to take from the sponsors.

It's all about the money in the end. It always has. Saying otherwise is hypocritical.

I'm only glad we're part of this new party because it's absolutely true that ESG is nothing but a new gentlemen's high society club that will make sure that some will get richer and some others won't, there's no denying, like it or not.

That wont do much though. The goal is probably to get the SL accredited by the UEFA in the end, than it wouldn't violate the rules for Porto anymore.

Quite interesting that the FIFA response was a lot tamer than the UEFA one.

Its not the change that is the problem. You can reform CL and make it better. But dont make up a competition where you close up the whole league. A league where noone can get relegated and where clubs that get in are chosen based on the revenue and not on the result.

Im having a huge problem with the format not the change.
I agree with you concerning reforming the CL, but UEFA actually plans to make it even worse by 2024.

I've never liked the way CL is headed to. And from next year onwards even EL will be split up in two separated tournaments so to invite even more teams overall.

More teams = more games = more money from TV rights, sponsorship and ticketing. There is nothing romantic or noble in that. UEFA is at least as corrupt as the founding clubs of ESL are. If not even more.

Less loan deals. Priority should be to build new stadium with Inter. As for new players ,new young attacker must be nr.1 priority. Buy Tomori, sell Romagnoli. Offer 9-10 milion to Donnarumma if he refuse buy new GK. Give Kessie and Bennacer higher salary. Buy vice Theo. Sell Samu ,buy class RW. Buy Tonali and Meite. Hakan 5 milion if he refuse buy new player . 350 milion that's a lot of money.

Its horrible for Seria A even if the elite 3 stay in. The domestic competition counts for nothing apart from prestige of the title.

Its a lose-lose situation for Seria A. But at least with Milan, Merda and Jube staying you get to manage the loss at least a little bit.
This is true, and this is one of the more valid points who speak against ESL.

I think one of the "winning arguments" the ESL clubs will put forth is that they will actually share more money with the wider pyramid than UEFA does today. At least that's what Glazer seems to be referring to in the official statement.

I think it's actually pretty cool that clubs are standing up to this corrupt overfinanced association. Fuck them. Fuck UEFA from here to the moon for kicking us while we we're down while allowing PSG, City and the rest to money dope for all to see. Under the auspices of fairness. Fuck them.

You don't really have a relegation with CL either though and some teams can qualify for SL. It is a lot more exclusive of course, no denying that.

Seems like war. Damn

Fuck UEFA, but not sure if I'd like this super league

Not gonna lie, it does sound good in many ways. BUT, what about the CL??? Would this be the end of CL as we know it??

Exactly Hitchen... exactly.... the revenue sharing is a lot fairer. The current system is very unfair to us. All these ACMilan fans are very idealistic and hypocritical.

I wonder what would be the opinion here about the Super League if Milan wasn't invited :D :D
