Buffon once again back to guaranteeing 3 points for Juve. It's difficult to believe he'll ever stop being good.
The year is 2049, a 71-year old Buffon is wheelchaired out to the CL final between AC Milan and Juventus. It is the keeper's last chance to win the coveted CL trophy he has lost on so many occasions.
Referees have been replaced by fully automated VAR (sponsored by Fiat this year) who have build Buffon a wheelchair that can predict ball direction and automatically move his position to save any shot.
Entering the final minute at 0-0, Paolo Maldini Jr (Maldini's grandson) steps up to take a freekick. Milan haven't scored a setpiece since 2019 - 30 years ago - because they are awful at it. A flashback to banter era times with the likes of Suso and Hakan, Maldini Jr realizes what must be done. He immediately thinks in his mind's eye to shoot into row Z like has been the case all of these years to trick VARventus' Buffon-powered goalkeeping machine into thinking the shot will go wide and out of the stadium. Instead, he hits it right across the ground, the ball rolling between the wheels of Buffon's wheelchair.
A roar erupts from the crowd as the final whistle is then blown, Buffon defeated yet again even though Agnelli literally bought over the referees and replaced them with mindless automatons. As AC Milan celebrate their 20th - and now overtaking Real Madrid as most wins - Champion's League trophy, a distraught Buffon is seen being embraced by Nedved on the sidelines. VARventus now have the record for most CL finals losses as Buffon disintegrates into the ether... his tale is told. Only a buffoon could lose so much when it really mattered.
