Enough with the endless rotations. Padre needs to pick a first XI and stick with it, adapt when returning starters are injury free. He has been rotating even more than necessary lately.

Gigio
Calabria - Tomori - Romagnoli - Theo
Tonali - Kessie
Saelemaekers - Hakan - Leao
Ibra

Regain some momentum please.

Does anyone have an injury update on Bennacer, Diaz, Mandzukic?

Why would you field Roma ?
Kjaer is injured ?

Would take your selection but Kjaer & Rebic starting.

Diaz & Gabb were on the bench but never given minutes so guess we arent rushing them.

Edin Dzeko picked up a groin strain against Braga yesterday and is likely to miss Sunday’s Serie A clash against Milan.

Good news

Realism. I want stability and continuity. We have been mixing things up too much.

Good news

We stand a chance if he misses it and their defence is still in shambles injury-wise. Mkhitaryan is the main worry in that case, guy legit having a great season.

Mikhi is more a problem of Kessie or Calabria.
But, indeed we will stand a chance he misses it.
Nothing is sure yet.

If We are to nullify Roma we need to block Mkhitaryan. When he is on form he is near unplayable...my concern is that we have not been pressing opponents as often as before. If we give Mkhitaryan time on the ball he can really hurt us. Even from deep positions. We need a big game from kessie to hunt this guy all game.

Dont know which players are available, but i would field this strategy.

alexis....tomori....kjaer....roma....theo
tonali....kessie
hakan
le?o....rebic

I would block them on the sides, and would get them also on the sides, using tonali and hakan to cross the ball from side to side, activating Theo and Alexis alot, this would stretch Roma's defensive system completely, opening spaces for Leao and Rebic(Even Ibra).
Their centerfield isnt that criative, so Kessie could totally handle that sector in front of our defense with the help of tomori or kjaer when the ball arrives there.

Its funny how we under our covid form played best against teams who press and play quick 1-2s. Now these type of teams rape us.

Roma will come out and play ultra offensive football. Pioli and his team better fckn step up and win.

Cause a loss here and our season is in shambles

Looks like Diaz is back

Him and Tomori are my chosen redeemed players if I have to pick two.

He could become the biggest player in the league and still be playing scared, not going to change a thing. He's all messed up in the head, wired terribly wrong especially when facing physical players and playing under pressure. He needs to play in the moment and stop answering to the what-if's in his head. I love watching cold-headed central backs play and this person is 20,000 miles from being calm.

let's hope bonera explained this week to romagnoli what man-mark is.

Not sure why he's training his back when he should be attending sprint training every day of the week.

As a slow defender himself Bonera may be missing the mark.

If Romagnoli can reinvent his contribution he should be given the benefit of the doubt, but I think Maldini has seen enough. He will target a CB this summer no matter how the contract situation works out.

Leao should be starting against Roma's slow full backs. He had a field day in the reverse fixture and is undoubtedly more confident than Rebic at the moment.

We need stability & continuity far away from Roma.
So start Kjaer-Tomo & go from there.
Also i hate that Kalu isnt given enough minutes.
If Pioli wanna rest Theo then field Cala LB so Kalu can start on the right.
Dalot shouldnt start unless we wanna rest both Cala & Theo.

So in your reality we will bench Roma until summer?

Why deal in wishes. It's more interesting dealing with the actual formation.

It seems that Dzeko will not play because of injury. Big relief for our capitano.
Let's win this game and turn around this bad run of games.

In my reality Pioli or Maldini shouldnt risk their career for Roma.
Who you think will get more heat if Roma continue to leak goals costing us games, Roma or Pioli ? Thats some real information right there.
Its not like he is an investment that needs to be kept happy before they sell him for a fortune.
And am not talking about banning him or mistreat him.
Just dont consider him as a definite starter.
As it is he should be the 3rd choice CD after Tomo & Kjaer & he will still have many games to play specially in EL.

Don’t think Pioli will bench Roma for such a big game.

We need Hakan to start performing again - he is key especially in Bennacers absence.

I don't think we need to choose between the 2. No when we have zero contribution from Saele, Samu and Hakan at the moment.

I don't see why we can't start Rebic and Leao. I understand neither one of them dreams of playing on the right side...but such are the needs of the team right now. Also, maybe they don't have to play on the right. One can play as a LM/LW and one as a SS near Ibra. Of course, it means changing the formation slightly and moving to something closer to a 442...but really, it's not that different then what we are doing now. Especially as Hakan looks completely out of form and as crazy as it sounds, completely out of shape. The dude looks like he's running in sand. Trips on the ball half the time.

I think what separated us from the rest last summer and in the beginning of this season, was the conditioning. We looked more in shape then the rest. We were sharper on the ball. We were running more. And many games we separated ourselves in the last 15-20 mins because we were in great shape. At this point, this seems to have disappeared. We see players making simple technical mistakes on the ball. We see players being sloppy and 60mins in, look like they are carrying rocks on their back. The #1 thing Pioli and his team need to do is get the team back into shape. It's not easy in the middle of the season and with 7 games in 20 days or so....but it's necessary. Otherwise we'd be in big trouble.

And no....no need for stats saying how much our players have run in comparison to others. You can cover the same distance. Doesn't mean you did it efficiently and it doesn't mean that you were sharp on the ball. You can sprint 60 meters and so will the player next to you.....but how fresh are you at the end of those 60 meters to make the right decision on the ball and execute sharply. Stats will not show this part. And this is the par that to me at least, it's evident of our team lately.
