Prof. G. Thiene: "Kjaer and the doctors have taken Eriksen from the antechamber of death"

After the illness accused yesterday by Eriksen, the Corriere della Sera interviewed Professor Gaetano Thiene, the expert in sudden cardiac death in athletes who performed the assessment on Astori and Puerta: "Eriksen was already at the gates of the afterlife - he declared - ventricular fibrillation is the antechamber of death. But this time the miracle happened, they saved his life, his death was a sudden abortion. It was a great success ".

According to the professor, everyone should be rewarded: "From the teammate (captain Kjaer, ed) who was quick to move his tongue to reopen the upper airways. To the doctors who gave him heart massage for several minutes because the heart could pump. And then to those who used the defibrillator. The defibrillator was a great invention, it's a lifesaver. If they used it it means that ventricular fibrillation was in progress, the boy lost consciousness, he couldn't be a banal syncope from heat or cold, had it been so he would have soon got up ".

Vfib is serious, quite scary in the field. Happy that the defib got his heart back to a normal rhythm right away.

Rafael Le?o and a future yet to be written. The Portuguese striker could surprise a change of jersey in the next few days. Milan still have faith in his qualities, they have not officially put him on the market but are starting some reflections together with his agent Jorge Mendes. In the meeting held in a well-known Milanese hotel in the middle of the week, the super agent anticipated the arrival of several important offers for the striker born in 1999.

Listen "Milan, Mendes warns Maldini: Leao can say goodbye, the truth about the figures" on Spreaker.

THE POSITION OF MILAN - All the clues lead to the Premier League where Wolverhampton and Everton have long been interested in Rafael Le?o. But also pay attention to Marseille: the French club has activated with Jorge Mendes, a track to be held in high regard. A new confrontation is expected this week, Paolo Maldini will only consider offers over 30 million euros.

Not trying to downplay Simon heroics, but wouldn't anyone capable of first aid tips do the same, especially for their teammate/friend? Would you let the person lie there like that and do nothing if you're capable of helping?

Dude, in a situation like that, you either react or don't. The first player to reach Eriksen was the number 5 of their team, and he didn't seem to know what to do other than to call the ref to stop the match and his other teammates.

Simon was the second person who rushed to Eriksens body, hand went straight for his mouth to make sure his tongue didn't roll back into his throat and suffocate himself, and also to adjust his torso so that he wouldn't be in a position for it to happen again. Called the paramedics over and started assisting in performing the procedures needed to give Christian that fighting chance he needed to survive. Cool as ice.
He also marshaled the team to cover up Eriksen as the medics were doing their job. Not to mention consoling the distraught wife.

I expect that all players on the field should have received first aid training, but in the face of crisis, some people just cannot react, even with the proper training. Reacting as fast and as calmly as Simon did meant that medical attention was applied as soon as possible. Those first few minutes might have been the difference between what we have now and the tournament being cancelled.

100% spot on

Eriksen was about to die in front of the very eyes of his daughter, his wife, his friends, his teammates, thousands of fans in the stadium and millions of people in front of the TV.

That he didn't was the merit of everyone who assisted, no matter the size of the contribution. In my books every single one of them deserves a statue. Not because they did it in front of our eyes or because the patient is a known person. But because every single human life is precious, and saving one is the most perfect human act that there is.

"Well, uhm, but he didn't die, so what's all the fuzz about?"

If you're one of those people who watched the pictures of yesterday and don't feel affected, shocked or at least a little bit of unrest - if you feel nothing - you're either egocentric beyond any healthy means or a psychopath.

100%. To act with such calmness in the face of such unexpected and indeed unprecendented crisis in front of you, truly shows the steel in his system. He actually has shown what kind of person he is through his performance for the past year with us. Solid and unwavering. Proud of Kjaer.

One of the best pieces of business we’ve ever done was bring Kjaer to this club. Everyone spoke about Ibra being the main reason why we turned our mentality and fortunes around but Kjaer arrived at the same time and brought great leadership also. Very happy and proud to have a leader like Kjaer at the club.

Slow news day.

Sky - Atletico Madrid, an offer presented to Calhanoglu: 3 million per season plus 3 million on signing

Mundo Deportivo - Milan-Firpo, watch out for West Ham: Barcelona would prefer to sell to the Premier League

Milan, interest in Real Madrid defender Odriozola

In addition to talking about Brahim Diaz, Milan could initiate a broader discussion on other redundancies of Real Madrid. Corriere dello Sport writes about the Rossoneri club's transfer strategies. And in fact - underlines the newspaper - from the Iberian capital there was talk of an interest in the defender Alvaro Odriozola.

I wonder how would perform a formation made of 1 goalkeeper, 5 Kessie and 5 Saelemaekers

I would probably play 3-5-2

LCB Saelemaekers
CB Kessie
RCB Saelemaekers

LM Saelemaekers
LCM Kessie
CM Salelemaekers
RCM Kessie
RM Kessie

FW Kessie
FW Saelemaekers
