Gazzetta - The Super League flops: now Milan will have to deal with Uefa. And with Boban

:)

Yeah, Milan will have to deal with UEFA, while Man$itty will not.

Papers are milking this SL farce in every possible creative way. :proud:

Next year when we beat Sparta Prague in CL, admit it or not you guys will enjoy it much more than you would beating Real Madrid in some fake SL.

That is what its all about. Wins based on histroy and success.

What a ludicrous embarrassment, Agnelli with a full page interview today exclaiming the ESL as a blood pact :fp:

Unbelievable, he looks so stupid it's unbelievable. His position looks untenable to me, got destroyed by Ceferin and presidents of other Serie A clubs and then has made what are now clearly ridiculous statements about the Super League.

It's incredible what a bad job they did, allowing UEFA and pundits to completely control the narrative and not even able to get majority support from their own fans. One of the worst PR performances I've ever seen. They failed even to get people excited about the possible quality of matches, failed to get people seeing their point of view that it was necessary for some clubs to survive. Really amazingly bad.

It is not to destroy. It is to harness the EPL money by transferring them to the Super League.

giphy.gif

The English teams are the 1st to back out because they have the most to lose due to their lucrative EPL money. Without the EPL teams the Super League is not attractive.

They are jealous... envious.

In the 90s Serie A was a 6/7 (more even) strong team league... that number went down all the way to just 1.

3/4 strong teams in Spain back in the day... just real and Barca now.

England? The opposite! From just liverpool to where they are now... 6/7 strong teams.

UEFA and FIFA are corrupted money whores to their bones. So was ESL. That's the truth. One could pick a side, there were many good points made for both sides.

But stop pretending this whole fiasco was "the poor people vs. the rich bad entities". It's not. One corrupted money shit show won over the other because it did a better job at manipulating folks into believing their doing it for them.

i dont care about uefa/fifa neither about rich owners money problems.
im against idea of league were nobody else cant get in and out based on sports results - its not competition.

i didnt read anywhere how soccerLeague would made football better for anyone else than clubs in,
was reading about financial pyramid - but in that system majority interest would be in soccerLeague, majority of money there so money 'sharing' would be by buying other teams best players even faster because of close nature of soccerLeague.

and 10b to share with other/poor when there is no tv deal, sponsors deals, nobody knows how successful project would be is just hilarious - cant even believe anyone quoted crap like that...
also someone show me the system where rich shares the money with poor if they are not forced to do it by the law, sure some throw some leavings but it come from money they dont care much and pr.

Was Agnelli sacrificing his daughter by making Ceferin her godfather all part of the plan?

What a looser this cunt is. in 48 hours he lost all the influence he had in European football.

What are you talking about? What was blocked? They could go and form the league and play their hearts out. The league wasnt blocked, what was blocked was EPL clubs participating in the national league.

You cant expect them to shit and spit on EPL and over all UK cities and expect them to get away with it. Did you really expect that the politicians wont do anything? If there ever was a reason for politics to get involved in sports this was it.

Fuck sitting on both chairs. You either play by our rules or GTFO. Noone said they cant go. But if you are going to play in our league you will respect the rules of rewards and relegation. Fuck ESL. Rather watch Milan getting 7th place for next 10 years than cheating our way and drown the importance of Seria A with it.

That's exactly a monopoly.

It didn't spit on EPL, it spit on CL, UEFA turned it into SL vs national league.

Sticking to UEFA rules is already drowning Serie A, wake up.

Then that is what the club deserves.

Let's not pretend that years of mismanagement isn't the primary reason for the state the club finds itself currently.

Hate to admit, but this is largely true.

PL has built a fairly successful business model. What have the Spanish and Italian clubs been doing for the past 30 years? No point playing the victim card now.

Its really not.

They are free to organize SL. They are also free to organize their own English league. They are not free to play in the Premier league and make up their own rules and not be bound by the rules of the league that they signed up for.

They are not allowed to downgrade the EPL, damage the image of the league and the clubs and cost all the clubs that are a part of the EPL milions of money. That is what happens when you take the competitivnes out of the league.

They can do whatever they want. Owners can move Milan to Quatar and play there if they want. But you dont get to call Seria A a monopoly if they decide to forbid that and kick Milan out

Serie A has been improving slowly .its better now than it was say 3 years ago.

Italy need ac milan in the CL, would be a massive boost

With 3 powerhouse CL teams, alot more wc players would join serie a , like the good old days

Its crazy how bundesliga, EPL, La Liga, Ligue 1 clubs can all be doing so well despite UEFA. Its just Seria A clubs getting shat on by UEFA apprently

I think the problem is somewhere else. UEFA needs a reform and a new system but Seria A is shit because people running the league and the clubs are shit. Lets make that clear.

They are the only supplier of a national pro football league, therefore they shouldn't be free to contract like an non-monopoly.

real & Barca piss me off the most... all their troubles are bc of mismanagement. Dont 4get they negotiate their own tv deals and not through the collective league... those 2 get much, much more money, even more than utd but utd still makes money tho so why cant Barca or real? These 3 are bigger than covid... guilty of mismanagement and nothing more!

Which Serie A club is run in a crazy or extremely unhealthy way? No Serie A club is shelling out 50-100m wages, CR7 is maybe close but he is also a top 3 footballer in the world. There is definitely room for improvement, but the worst excesses are definitely not in Serie A.
Serie A also has some of the best football brands.
Yet they cannot realize this, and not a single one can. It is a structural problem.

You either need to be in EPL or be in bed with Qatar at the moment, no matter how big your brand potential is. That is definitely not fair.

The final nail in the coffin of the other leagues has been those ridiculously high priced TV deals with Sky some years ago. Since then EPL is basically ESL but only with English clubs. That's why ESL without the English Clubs isn't possible. Even Real Madrid can't hold against the combined power of EPL.

And fortunately enough UEFA is there to ensure that the EPL's predominance can't be challanged unless you're not owned by some sheichs who corruptly bypass any rules given so they can bloat their balance sheets even more with shady non-existent sponsorship deals.

Meritocracy?

Bwahahahahaha.

I still stand the point that UEFA must fall one way or another. It turns out that ESL won't be the right way and probably shouldn't be neither since it's as much driven by money as everything else.

But make no mistake, UEFA surviving this will make it even harder to go against them at some point in a distant future. As for now we're going further down the route where players will demand more money, agents more commission, rich clubs will collect their trophies and poor clubs can continue to romantisize about the shier impossibiloty of one day breaking through against all odds.

I can even hear Raiola somewhere laughing about all of this.

Noone is refusing the transport. They can ride the train but they have to follow the rules. If you dont follow the rules you get kicked off. If you get kicked off and you dont like the rules you go and make your own train company.

Noone is desputing their right to do that. But you cant ride the train while trying to sell 3 of the wagons for under the market price to another company and expect not to be banned.

what exact rule? Is it in the regulations that you can't participate in other leagues?
you can't make up rules during the game

But isn't that what the ESL were trying to do?

They weren't building a new product to rival the domestic leagues, but CL. That's why they would have withdrawn from CL to build their own thing.

In that example I would say there is the train company, which is the domestic league, while CL is an airline company. Now the clubs decided to create a new airline which would rival the CL airline.

Of course, with that new shiny airline in place, people would automatically consider to use the airline more often instead of the train. That's where the train looses some money. But that doesn't mean that the train company can suddenly decide to exclude everyone who wants to use the train if he intends to build an airline company?

they didn't change any existing rules, nor break any to my knowledge

Ofc they did.

The rules of the domestic leagues state that 4 clubs qualify for CL, 3 for EL and so on.

With organizing the EL they turned these rules on its head and tried to force the domestic leagues to change and adapt to their needs. Basicly demanded that the leagues have two sets of rules, one for the elite 6 or 3 and another set of rules for all other clubs.

Its clear and completely ridiculous and you probably just dont wanna see it..
