He played solid for Everton considering what that team played at that time, he was benched coz coach changed, he exploded next year in CSKA & played great in CL & EL since then. He is voted Russian player of the year and not in a champion team all while beeing top 3 in Croatia NT for last 3 years.

Include that he has 7 years of first team football, was best in U21 on last European he played and is CSKA by far best player. That way out gonna be prety tiny coz noone will give you their best player so you do what you want, potentialy destroy him, and then just ship him back

The 16.5m litigation will be settled between Sporting and Leao/Mendes, not Milan.

Milan are not involved at all. If there's any club involved, it's Lille who took him from Sporting for free.

And I believe Milan paid 28m for Leao - 23m in cash and Djalo who is valuated at 5m.

It wasn't a bad deal at all. Given his agent is Mendes who can find a buyer in no time, the money we paid is very much recoupable.

overpaying for one player doesn't justify other player's price.

Not to mention Tonali was on loan with option initially, so they knew his qualities and could make a conscious decision about buying him out and his price.

Big difference from paying 30m for a player from russian league

If Tonali was 23-24yo he wouldn't be worth his fee, but in reality he is Kalulu?s age, and that's what we get charged for.
