Roma enter van Buyten battle

The Giallorossi are locked in a bidding war with Premiership clubs for promising defender Daniel van Buyten.

“We do not want to sell Daniel,” insisted Olympique Marseille President Cristophe Bouchet, “but we have received offers from Italy and England.”

The 26-year-old Belgian international has attracted interest from all the top European clubs over the last couple of seasons.

Van Buyten is particularly appetising for Roma due to his height, as he stands at 1.97m and was their joint top scorer last season with eight goals.

However, Fabio Capello faces competition from the likes of Manchester United, Newcastle and Juventus for the international.

What do u guys think about this do guys reckon milan should bid for this guy would he be a help for milan.If yes why?

Why does Roma want him? They already got two top class defenders: Walter Samuel & Christian Chivu. But if they play 3-5-2 more it'll ofcourse be a dream defense who you can compare with the likes of Milan. And he scores pretty much for a defender.

I doubt we can afford Van Buyten...we first should get hold of our massive financial problems than invest any more.

and by the way we HAVE a dream defense that can be compared to the rossonero one...maybe even the other way round, only ours is way younger!

I reckon that they're looking at him as a possible option in case Samuel leaves...

I dont think that Roma will get him, they already have two top-class defenders, Chivu & Samuel.
Anyway, we also have Paolo & Sandro, so we dont need him either, to bring Van Buyten would be to splash money, and Im sure Galliani wont splash a single € on a new top-defender.

Well..Paolo and Billy are catching up on the years..definitely a sign that an investment in young and gifted defenders is a big concern amongst the Milanisti..and for sure..we aren't going to let Roque return and neither are we going to trust playing Laursen for every match...
