And last season it seems he found his foot playing a deeper role in the midfield.

Seems to love taking possession back from opponents.
I can see why management would want to bring him in.
That said, his decision making up front could use some mentoring.
Final passes seem to be lacking placement, and his shots when he couldn't find the pass seem a bit on the fly (he scuffs them).

Promising, but would need time to develop.
He's like Alexis/Diaz at the beginning of last season.

kamara would be the better signing but he can easily start for a good team, i doubt he would come here to ride the bench behind kessie and ben most of the time.
going for the cheaper option makes sense if they can get him for that amount

Bennacer is only untouchable if he can get back to his 19/20 form. Someone like Kamara would make Bennacer in his 2021 form run for his money.

Ligue 1 is the place to go for cheap talent. Sorry to say but young Italian talent at that level and for that price is non-existent. Maldini and co. learned that lesson with the initial Tonali deal.

Based on a few youtube videos Adli doesn't look like DM at all, he is definitely more attacking type

of course. bennacer 2021 was pretty average but he battled with injuries the whole year and missed 25 games. expect a much better season from him
