It does not make sense to pay Ibra big money if he is going to miss more than half a season
Ibra is the reason we're even fighting for a CL place
It does not make sense to pay Hakan big money if he is always inconsistent and really only gives you good corners and free kicks
of course not, his form is so on off that giving him more than what he makes now is a stupid financial decision
It does not make sense to pay Theo big money if he is a liability always making the same mistakes and plays poorly against better opposition
has theo asked for a raise..?
It doesnt make sense to pay Romagnoli big money if he cant elevate the defense and is more a liability than an asset
not even putting the Raiola issue into factor, he constantly gets outplayed by strikers above his level, and often below. Oh, and the captain of AC Milan sadly
Teams are made up of great players who make the magic happen and workers who 'carry the water'. We are continuously asking the water carriers to make wine because the magicians just arent up to the task.
Love it or hate it, our team consists of young players, who are prone to make errors and break mentally. Saying "they should step up or fuck off" is nice in theory but not in reality. You either have star players and pay them a significant salary (more than what we can), or have a bunch of 'water carriers' that need to fit the system perfectly (Atalanta, this year's Manchester United). we have neither (Kessie and Bennacer being an exception, at least in the 1st half of the season).
We need players we can rely on to provide a certain level of quality consistently or we will never progress. These last games (imo) will reveal the makeup of players who should continue on as part of this project and who should be moved to acquire better fits for the squad.
