I injured my shoulder at least three times this year doing pull-ups. Being in your 40's sucks ass
2 things I’ve learned over the last 6 months:

1) Warmup is critical, especially something like pull ups don’t just jump right into them. I always walk on treadmill for 5 minutes (like 4 speed and 3.5 incline) + warm up shoulders and arms EVERY workout. I do some light lateral raises, rear delt flys and couple of rotator cuff motions to get it warmed up. Then light pushdowns and curls to warm up arms/elbows

2) Discontinue movements that cause injury. If you’re doing everything properly and pull-ups are wrecking your shit, stop doing them or try different grips (neutral or go chin-ups). Or take them out completely and just do lat pulldowns.

Sorry about the injuries, bro, hope for healthy days going forward for you.

So we scored 3 goals at home against a small club in a day in which Leao was not nearly at his best
Leao was an absolute joy to watch today!!!

Easy 3 Punti, onto the next game...

I'm looking forward to another EL game on Thursday in Milan, I'll be enjoying a beer by midday in the Navigli 💪

Today's a good day ✌️

If I stop pull ups I will make Lizzo look like Natalie Portman

I have possibly the world's worst genetics and metabolism. Adli's sweet pass is probably going to make me put on 5Lbs :proud:

I’m 6’2, so we probably have similar leverage issues. I was frustrated by small injuries a couple of different times on the road to 225, but ran an Arnold Split and then BRO split over the last 24 weeks and hit it pretty easily. I’ve not hit all of my initial strength goals, so I think the 1000lb. club is my next goal other than being jacked and tan of course.

If anything put my over the edge, I think it was actually dips because my triceps seemed to be the limiting factor. I will definitely start incorporating pushups because I’ve heard the same from several strong men like yourself.

And yeah, bench reps that don’t hit the chest count about the same as Inter’s calciopoli Scudetti

I am doing every muscle group twice a week. Since April of last year. Life changing. Keeping it simple. So Chest and back, shoulders and arms, and legs. Rest day. Repeat. Running/Cardio and walking at least 11,000 steps a day.

Shit is slow when you’re in your 40s. I also pay a lot more for my nutrition sins now.

I’m 6’3” so yeah, you know what I am talking about. Also, dudes just seem a lot stronger now. The other day this one guy, maybe 5’7”, pumps out two solid reps on the bench with 3 plates on right next to me. Shit is humbling.

Sorry to interrupt but I just want to say that Lizzo is a gigantic piece of shit and deserves hell.

Carry on

Chuk was on fire, the goal really gave him confidence.

Gonna miss Giroud, hope we can still keep him as a sub but he deserves to end his career whatever way he wants.

Just need to fix that midfield-def and we'll be flying next year

Sheesh at the 315 reps. Social media seems to have driven more people into fitness and there’s so much info. available now that people didn’t know 20 years ago, so you are probably seeing a lot more freaks like that. The joke in the fitness memes is that 315 is the new 225, which is insane.

Your split is exactly how the Arnold Split I ran was set up. It definitely produced the best shoulder and arm gains I’ve ever had. Hitting those 2 muscle groups twice per week is definitely beneficial, legs 2x wore my and my gym bro out lol. I do have fucking horse legs and an ass like a Kardashian, though.

We are going to run PPL UL for the next 12 weeks or so, which we’ve never done before. Hitting everything twice per week over 5 days.

Dudes also take lots of steroids and shoot shit in their ass these days.

All that beach muscle don't mean much lol to me. Usually when I used to train for kickboxing and stuff those guys are the easiest to finish.

But yea strength wise sure. You see quite a few these days pump insane amounts but lot of them aren't really functional as they just do body building workouts.

Extra help is no longer stigmatized as it was 10-15 years ago. I remember an acquaintance who had bad back acne, obvious gyno etc. took him forever to confess that he was using. Now most people are open about it. Except actors who stick to the broccoli/chicken/brown rice bullshit in Men’s Health spreads.

Good luck with your goals man!

Unskilled vs unskilled sparring they’d bully the shit out of regular folks though, let’s be honest
Definitely. But if RnB ever went at it with the Inter forum, I’m taking you.

I’ll watch and bench rep 205 on the side.

No chance against anyone who does manual labour. Any of the following,;
Construction worker if he isn't eating pies and ciggies all day
Concreter /tiler
Brick layerer
Rigger
And definitely furniture removalist
These 4 types would kill these body builders in seconds. I have seen it happen. I am talking unskilled vs unskilled. One punch ko lmao.

I used to so removalist work when I was 17 to 20. That's how I originally got strong. Trust me. These guys are insanely strong due to hard work.

These guys and I mean skinny ones would beat the shit out of these overgrown body building dudes.

You too, bro!

I’m not taking 30 years off of my life for this shit, there’s some honor in doing it without steroids, but I don’t criticize anyone that does and is honest about it, the losers are the actors you reference and people that lie about it.

No nutmeg, he dribbled somewhat, okay.

Pulisic did the heavy lifting.

I would love for Chuk to be great, I'm just not seeing why he's being hailed.

His last goal, on the volley? Amazing. But Pulisic is so much better than him.
Pulisic right now is right up there under Maignan, Leao and Theo in terms of importance for me. Those three are at the top, then Pulisic and probably RLC and Reijnders.

If Chuk continues this run of not looking like an amateur soccer player in the US of A, then I’m going to lose it over the incredible transfer market we had last season.

Give me a bomber CF and 2 warrior CMs for the love of god

I am a lazy bum but the worst is when I actually have some inspiration and work out for a few days and then something just feels like it needs weeks of rest.

Only downside of this side of 45 for me.

Will be 49 this year.

You’re always going to be sore the first time you workout after a period of inactivity, whatever age you are. You have to work through that soreness, bruh

That is true.

Functional strength is key. I’ve trained with some movers and they are legit stronger than actual fighters

Aches are fine - feeling like your knee is giving away or your back is out of alignment is stuff I never had to deal with at any point of my life.

After I past 45 it was just different.
