He’s had a goal contribution in every game. Dismissing penalties and a “tap in” is such a bad argument for a striker being poor when their main job is to contribute to goals. He’s also had 3 lovely assists. The first the excellent flick to pulisic, the second a perfectly weighted through ball to Leao against inter, and the third the same thing in this game. I actually think overall his hold up play has been quite good and he is still pressing very well. The games he hasn’t looked ‘lively’ are objectively the ones we performed poorly as a team.

Only Oli could bang out very decent performances and get calls for being dropped

That is why everybody looks disjointed and exhausted out there all the time, every game. Because there is no legit tactics for attacking in the opponent's half. Our players are literally creating shit on the fly. That puts a strain on the entire team out there.

I think what Giroud does really well is falling back, drawing defenders out of position, and giving a much needed help in controlling the midfield.

What I don't like is that more often than not all he does is flicking and that not successive enough to do so constantly (yeah I know one of those flicks resulted in an assist. But given how 80% of his touches are flicks, chances were high for that )
