gilardino?

AC Milan chief won't deny deal for Parma's Gilardino
tribalfootball.com - October 17, 2004

AC Milan chiefs have refused to deny reports they have struck personal terms with Parma ace Alberto Gilardino.

"You want to know if it's true we will sign Gilardino in January?" questioned Galliani, in response to reports a deal will be agreed in the New Year and made official next June.

"At Parma there are friends (Arrigo Sacchi and Luca Baraldi) and really, for this reason, we will never be rude to people who we have known there for a long time.

"Gilardino will be the national team's future striker, especially as he's a really good player.

"And, usually at Milan, we are interested in really good players."

damn...this would be really, really nice. of course, it is tribalfootball but whatever, it has quotes.

gila wouldn't be my first choice, but theres no way i would be comlaining if we got him...especially in january.

if we had him we'd put him in the starting line up, for sure. the writing is on the wall for crespo, i guess. maybe pippo too.

Ya it think its time Milan getsa good italian striker. Gilardino would be and ideal choice but Cassano also. Gilardino needs to pick up his game this year.

I don't know whether you all knows something about www.Allsoccer.ru but this is pretty WORTHY to trust site.

So some days ago I have read the news from www.Allsoccer.ru with the reference to the edition of La Gazzeta about Gilardino transfer to Milan,

so it is said that the terms of contract are already agreed between Milan and Parma, there is only a question whether Gilardino comes in January or in July

but considering the problems with Milan’s strikers (I mean a huge dependence on Sheva’s performance, Tomasson lack of fitness, something strange what going on with Crespo and Inzaghi hmmm here I would prefer to say nothing, it was everything already said by me) it seems very possibly that Gilo joins Milan in January.

well today in ALSAT SPORT they said the same, Gilardino agreed terms with Milan .. but will depend on Crespo alot, if Crespo continue to struggle than Gilardino is coming in January .. if Crespo find himself than Gila comes in July..

I would prefer Cassano instead of Gila but Gila is perfect also ;)

FORZA MILAN!

moving to a big club could be just what gila needs to kickstart his season...and we could use the boost of his goals.

one thing, though...when we play with shev and tomasson, tomasson and shevchenko both make alot of runs and they both come deep for the ball. when inzaghi plays with shev, he stays level with the opposing center backs...as far as i can tell, gila is a target man. to accomodate him, we would be knocking up longballs for him to knock down to kaka or shevchenko...shevchenko isn't really a poacher type striker, like kevin phillips...it doesn't seem like gilardino would fit our tactics, but he is a proven striker and i'm sure either we'll adapt to him or he'll adapt to the system.

Milan can adapt, in fact this will be even better. Gilardino playing as a target man can only help Sheva because he can feed of Gila - aka Drogba for Chelsea - strong target man and sets up others around him. Havin two similar strikers is never good.

So far the Sheva-JDT partnership hasn't worked at all, stop spreading bullshit, guys. JDT's 'deep runs', if there were any, didn't help the match at all.. he most of the time was BYPASSED by the flow of the game + save 1 match, a very negligible factor in build-up. Maybe we need better 'withdrawn'/playmaking strikers, Sheva is no Henry  Seriously now, why have people such a hard time realizing that you WANT + NEED different types of strikers + that JDT is just a very mediocre player ? Even if he played all season, like he did last year, he wouldn't reach an impressive tally, nor would he be assisting a lot.. Getting Gilardino is a step up, not down.

JDT is not world class.....but he isnt 'very mediocre player' IMO.....he can contribute to Milan....remember when he came on for Inzaghi against Lazio - he turned the game.....as soon as he came on Sheva had more space and was given service from JDT aswell as the midfielders.

of course gilardino is a step up from tomasson... i rate gila very highly. i was just saying that we don't normally play with a target man, and we'd have to adjust our play for him, thats all. we defintely don't need a playmaking striker(except cassano) though, we already have PLENTY of playmakers in the team...pirlo, kaka and seedorf wouldn't want to share the ball anymore

if JDT is a mediocre player, what does that make inzaghi?

its a beautiful thing...

Parma's Gilardino keen on AC Milan
tribalfootball.com - October 18, 2004

Parma striker Alberto Gilardino admits he is flattered to be linked with AC Milan.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani refused to deny reports yesterday that they had struck personal terms with the young centre-forward ahead of a possible January agreement with Parma.

For his part, Gilardino admitted: "There have been five or six months of talk with my name linking me to this or to that great team. I have always said I would stay with Parma and here I have remained.

"The interest of Milan? There is no doubt, it is surely a beautiful thing."

he's right. it is a beautiful thing.

17-und-4 let's start a petition for ''Senor Ancelotti please sign Gillardino in January''.

We will be the first ones to sign and anyone who wants to join us can do so. We will send the list to Milan as soon as we get half a million signatures.
Ahh what the hell can't he just see that everyone wants Gilardino including himself and just sign him already???

Great idea :)

I think Anelka is a awsome player. If we fail with Giladrno and cant get Tevez or Torres etc. Id like us to pinch the Man City striker.

Since Pippo's ankle is acting up again + we're left with that lame ass Crespo, whom Chelsea smartly dumped upon us for as long as it takes to have him cured by MilanLab for free, and an out-of-form + generally mediocre JDT + Sheva, who doesn't always score when we sooooo depend on him, I hope this Gilardino deal will materialize already in January. He's needed, he's welcome, he's quality enough, he eases some of my worries with regard to Milan turning into a club of geriatrics.... in one word: he's perfect :devil3:

Anelka is an idiot. Says s.o. who normally has a thing for the French.

Besides, the topic is Gilardino.

But if more recent rumours are more true, Milan would rather get Borriello back than spend a few € on Gila :o ;)

Gilardino clearly needs to move on to a better side. Staying at Parma doesn't do him any good anymore.

US_bombs.. you really need to start looking at issues from every angle  including the not so pleasant ones from a Milan perspective. I knew why I said it was a smart move by Chelsea. We pay the big part of his salary + Chelsea are also off the hook with regard to his medical bills.. Yea.. Abramovich wouldn't be were he is if he was a fool ;)
