how and when ?
DES is not a bad player. And he did deliver some nice performances in 2012/13.
But 25m, even 20m is too good to turn down for a mentally and physically fragile fullback who is proving time and time again he can't be depended upon.
Also, he's been whoring himself out to Jube all summer, so forget about #cuorrerossonero.
As for SES, if it was up to me he would still be here.
They are reality. Most of these so called super talents at 20-21 dont improve much. I can give you so many players who at 20-21 people thought in 3-4 years they gonna be amazing. Most players who show great promise in their early 20s dont reach the level people think they will. Simply because everyone think they gonna be world class in 3-4 years. sess is perfect example of that

"DES has been whoring himself out to juventus"
In this market I'd sell him for 25 minimum, 30 if it's juve. no chance I'd sell him for the loan + option for 15-18 that juve offered.
ses I would have sold for the right price, 13 million is justin this market.
at least romastori seems far more likable than the allegri/juve fanboy.
Yeah if you are genoa
If you buy a defender for 25m and find out he can't defend, you would be crazy not to sell him for twice what you paid for him.

Selling our best players- turns us into another arsenal- selling our best italian player (apart from donnarumma) is even worse- it shows we have no ambition. Its daft. Stupid. Galliani-like
And? My point was that when de sciglio and SES broke through, their hype was completely justified. They were young internationals, one was the leagues best left back and the other carried an average team up the table out of nowhere. If they get injured a lot and play under coaches like inzaghi, or whatever happens, fair enough. Shit does indeed happen. But my point still stands. We never overrated them. The talent was there it just wasn't used properly. And both of their careers are still going strong anyway.
Hype is based on potential when it comes to young player. When you look at Romagnoli as a player right now. You think if he is this good at 21, imagine how good he would be at 25-26. Lets say he stays at this level. Is a 26 year old CB with exactly the same ability and level and Romangnoli worth 40 million euros? I dont think so. So people are not making a decision on his current quality, but based on him improving next few years and becoming elite. My point is most 21 year olds who are extremely highly rated dont live up to what people think they will. A lot of players are early bloomers and some of them they are at their best at 21-22
Conte picked Ogbonna ahead of Romagnoli for the Euros, and now he wants to take Romagnoli off our hands.. Go take Ogbonna from your beloved Ladri instead dude
for a very short term like a forthcoming final stage of the Euro Champ, it's better for him to rely on someone that he already knows, that knows his defending mates, especially played with them in the same kind of formation (3-5-2) that he wanted to use for that competition.
Romagnoli is the better player, of course Conte prefeer him for a long term plan, but it was risky for the Euros.

He had 2 years the time to try things out. Even when Barzagli & Chiellini were at the same time out, he chose players like Ogbonna, Ranocchia, Rugani, Astori, Acerbi & Moretti over Romagnoli, even for friendlies. So don't come with that BS. Changing from a 2CB to a 3CB system is not that hard for a CB. Also he played with 2CB systems and still ignored him.
Another Conte apologist?2 years? When Conte started, Romagnoli was 19, and played just a few games for Roma, not even a game for the Italian Under 21 team. Conte had already a lot of good experienced defenders, that could play better than him in the short term, so no reason to rush him at all.
Not good for the team, not good even for the player which could develop more easily in the Under 21 team.
Changing from 2CB to 3CB is not hard if you work almost everyday with your coach, which happens at club level, not national team.
With national team, experience is more important because they have less time to adapt to new situations, no matter how Romagnoli seems to be already good when he played for his club.
Another Conte apologist?![]()
