Why the fuck he subbed in Chukwueze anyway ??
He only made 2 subs. Why abraham out and not Loftus Cheek ??
Chuk actually caused problems for them down that right flank. Moreso than Pulisic and Emerson did.

Leverkusen players were actually backing off against Chuk there.

Honestly on the balance of things, we deserved the loss. The team did absolutely nothing in the first 60 minutes until the goal. If we had had Morata's impetus alongside Tammy at the start of the game, things would definitely have been different.

We put in a decent last 30 minutes, but lucky or unlucky, we didn't do enough to trouble them for the first 60 mins, so the loss was deserved.

Ref was still a Leverkusen bitch though. I counted 4 or 5 fouls (one on the edge of the box against RLC) that he let go. There were some bad calls that went against us, and Frimpong at 90 was pulling on Theos shirt, how was that a foul on Theo?

Fonseca is afraid. He did not play for the win. There were a lot of place to win this game, but we didn't play for it. We are just a reaction team and mentally we are week.
Yes, the fact that we did not react until we conceded is proof that we were playing scared up until the goal.

Once conceded they came to realization that the very thing they had been scared of actually happened but they were still fucking alive. So they were like, well might as well play properly now.

Why were we scared going into this match?

Atalanta drowned these lucky fuckers 3-0.

At least we weren't help less. Getting there. Hitting the stride. Boys just need more rhythm.

We will get around.

Forza fucking Milan.

The greatest club in this world.

We could learn a thing or two from Leverkusen game but we played well. Didn't give up
I don\t get this....if you were watching the same games I did, we beat Inter who is a top 10 team in Europe and played better than them and we should have gotten at least a 1-1 draw tonight had it not been for a mixture of bad luck and fucked up refereeing...how can you guys describe this as "at least we weren't helpless" LOL

The ref impacted this game so much, so many fouls on our counters, on Leao and Theo, in the first half, I'm sorry, I'm not going to shit on Fonseca, and I'm not going to shit on the players.

Disgusting decisions. Tomori got a red and a penalty against Chelsea, where Mount got his shot off still, think about this... RED AND PENALTY and you want to tell me that Tammy getting hit from behind wasn't a penalty? It wasn't even shoulder-to-shoulder, because their guy was behind Tammy.

RLC just gets hacked in the box, no penalty?

Theo gets hit in the face, directly, on purpose and no VAR review? Seriously? No card. No foul. No yellow. Nothing.

Leao literally had Frimpong jumping on his fucking back and it wasn't a foul.

I'm sorry. Fonseca should complain like Xavi or whatever fucking Barca idiot in his press conference. Complain about the refs. Do it. Take the fine. Say something Furlani. Say something Ibrahimovic. Talk shit. Make the refs think twice about what they do to us. Put the pressure on UEFA.

Fucking disgusting.

Work made me miss most of the second half.
Saw some good things and definitely saw some poor calls and unlucky chances.

We really need a few more players and more time to become a better squad. This result doesnt change much for me.

There was a replay that casually showed the ball touching Xhaka’s arm inside the box during a corner. Did anyone else see it or did I imagine it?

Nah i think Royal and Pulisic put in a good shift.

Chukweze was okay, i dont think hes consistent enough. He leads to a lot of turn overs.

That ref is a fucking disgrace. 2 clear penalties for me and no VAR. we got nothing from him, fouls, yellow cards, nothing. He will be slammed tomo but he did his job and kept us from winning him and his reffing mates-absolutely appalling. Fuck them

We saw one thing tonight which was either corruption or incompetence and I’m going for the former

I didn't say they were bad. Pulisic had a couple of nice moves running into the box, but they seemed a bit telegraphed and Leverkusen's defense was able to crowd him out to turn the ball over.

By contrast, after Chuk came on, they had to put 3 players on his flank just to guard him because he kept unpredictably nutmegging them. He did turn the ball over, but one was a double-team foul that wasn't called on him and another was a triple team. If he can build up some chemistry with Emerson, I think he will make an effective backup. I don't think he misplaced a pass this match, it was always because of the double/triple teams.

I saw it as well, he missed the header and it hit just below his shoulder instead.. but the arm was tucked to his body so to me that wasn’t a penalty.

I’m surprised so many of you are so negative about this. A good chunk of the game was shit and it’s never good to lose, but this game doesn’t really make or break our season anyway.

You guys talk too much about player quality, we showed we can play with them, whether it came later in the game or not. This is a team with more new players and a new coach, vs a league winner at home with one loss last season. Fucking relax Jesus Christ.

There was a lot to be frustrated about but the team reacted positively, I would have been way more worried if they crumbled after the goal. And I didn’t even talk about some bad calls or any of that. A hard fought 1-0 loss away against a good team isn’t the end of the world. We always want to win but this is not the game to panic about.

Leverkusen took their foot off as well. I think it was half half tbh.

[...]

Yeah true. Sadly we couldn't punish them because their defending was atrocious. They controlled the game more or less as much as we did before they scored 😅

Reijnders is a very technical player but he’s so soft. Charmin ultra soft.

He his ref giving us cards after the whistle. Utter clown, he influenced the match big time with h his decisions.
Yeah, we were unlucky.

A draw would have been fair, but a loss isn’t a robbery either. It’s fine.

I took a lot of heart from this performance.

Except Chuk. He’s dumb.
