Bring back Adli in Jan and try to buy Ricci because I don't trust Bennacer's fitness. Also, get a striker on loan, a goal scorer preferably.

All the big teams have at least one striker in their prime who is a goal threat.

They've transformed since Adli became a starter for them. They are a flawed team, with a fraction of the talent we have, but look at what they are doing.

Mind you, we're also below Atalanta, Lazio, teams that we have more talent than--we've looked terrible against Monza and Cagliari, I'm faulting Fonseca for issues that exist even when we win, not just when we draw to relegation teams.

If we had Adli, imagine where we would be.
Drop by for a hot minute.. still blowing Adli. Some things never change.

Jk had to say it haha

The worst part of it all, is I have been avoiding talking about him for a long time (like four days probably), hope you're doing well brother!

Bro if 2 center backs play well together, you play them together until they give you a fucking reason not to. You don’t replace one of them for no god damn reason with a Serbian.

“Only mistake he made” (leads to 2 goals lol)
Yes, especially a Serbian

pavlovic was shit but didn't cost us the game tho
Theo was virtually completely at fault for the goal they are trying to completely put on pavlovic. Pavlovic was out of position but that doesn’t explain why Theo was ball watching instead of defending. He did nothing to put the Cagliari player off and he was literally right there.

Their final goal to equalise was completely his fault as well. He can’t lace dimarco’s boots and I’m not being hyperbolic when I say that. Living off of goals from 3-5 seasons ago when we need dude to primarily be defensively competent.

Btw, those goals we associate with him, when was the last time he scored one of those? Dude is stealing a wage, it’s disgraceful.

Moncada also needs to get his fair share of blame. You cannot always build a team with unproven players from other leagues. Yes, Reijnders worked out very well. But, especially for defense, you cannot risk with young, unproven players unless they are 3rd or 4th choices. Buongiorno for 35 mil would have been a better investment than Pav at 20.

Where were our scouts before Buongiorno and Calafiori went for big money.

Fonseca should consider playing 3-4-3 and use Theo as left wing back. Chuk is not good enough, although he was rested against Madrid. RLC never puts in enough effort. He could have closed down their wingers to help out Musah/Tomori but did not do enough.

We seriously need Gabbia to be back, Gabbia and Thiaw/Tomori is the way to go. We need one reliable striker and an alternative to Reijnders/Fofana.

Management is 50% to blame, Fonseca 25%, players 25%.
Im starting to doubt if Fonseca knows what he is doing. We should have tractored Cagliari today, instead, we gifted them 3 goals.

I see why he didn’t sub Pavlovic out at halftime. Probably didn’t want to destroy his confidence and have to build it back up over the course of the next few weeks/couple months. Still, he should’ve come off very early in the second half if not at halftime.

Definitely should’ve started Tomori though. I think fonseca can turn it around and that top 4 is the target this season. A select few players are sabotaging the manager.

If he’s sacked, he should only be replaced with a manager with a better cv.

Personally, I’m backing fonseca until the end. He’s setting the foundation for success in the future.
I see where you’re coming from man, but top 4 is not the target, and Fonseca has been categorical about that. As a fan it’s unrealistic to ask to win every season when the competition is fierce, but for a team like Milan, with its revenues, with many of its quality players, not to be in the conversation by early or late fall? That’s unacceptable. We lost points to Parma and Cagliari and outright robbed Monza. Fonseca doesn’t have the tactics sorted out. He has failed in my view and so has Redbird in appointing him. He can beat Real 50 times over whatever; this game was supremely important and he blew it. We could have gone into the break on a high with something to build on. Now it appears everything is shit domestically.

He has to display ambition in pressers but I’m sure he knows the reality. Anything above top 4 this season is overachieving. This is a team with a new manager and new signings in key positions after several seasons of Pioliball, which is the polar opposite of Fonseca’s doctrine. The writing was on the wall that this would be a transition season.

The reason I wanted conte in the summer was because he’s more resourceful with this kind of squad. 2-3 targeted profiles of his choice and he would be set. His doctrine is more simple and easier to implement with most squads. He started his Scudetto season at inter with a 4-3 win against Fiorentina at San Siro and ironed out every weakness over the course of that season.

Redbird chose to wear rose-tinted glasses and go with the more difficult path towards success. I see potential in what fonseca is trying to put together and I think he needs time to fully implement that vision. We have to be patient. I envisage a stabilisation not too long into the future and a gradual road to success. The managerial game of musical chairs won’t help us. Continuing with fonseca is the solution imo.

He fucking player Pavo when you have Tomori on the bench. So yes Fonseca shit the bed. He continues to play that useless 4231. So yes he shit the bed.

We don’t defend in 4231, but doesn’t change the fact you asking Puli to come back and defend.

Fonseca is the sole reason we lost tonight. We good enough to beat Cagliari even on a bad day. They are 17th. Pioli coached this team. We would be crushing by 2-0. But we consistently look bad against small teams cause Fonseca does not know how to set up the team. Please just sack him.
I disagree

Regarding Tomori, I think he knew that Cagliari is strong aerially so he opted to bench Tomori for Pavlovic.. makes sense to me .. how Pavlovic performed is not Fonseca's fault.. Pavlovic has no spacial awareness and has thr touch of a donkey and tries to be the playmaker. This is a players fault but I am willing to tolerate that if it means its a lesson that he can learn as he grows.

Fonseca played with 3 CBs to address the aerial inferiority (which is a good move) but still there was poor coordination. He even changed the wingers and the new ones were supposed to track their full backs who were sending in dangerous crosses but they failed. This is not Fonseca's fault, its on the players for not performing.

Some players need to be less naive

You cant beat real away and draw like to cagliari. I was holding back to see what we do today to see if we are moving away from normal fonseca. Random wins regardless of the opponent. Today was a must win. Its a scandal not to win.

and who the fuck puts the 3rd goal on theo's fault.
i ve notice there is a trend to try to blame everything on the players, especially the important ones, to take attention away from fonseca shitty tactics. redshit orphans at their best.

they are 3v3 in the penatly box. theo is marking his man. the one who scores is number 28, unmarked. probably okafor's man.

He should’ve been marking the space in the right side of the box in this frame. We mark zonally not man to man. He’s too bunched into pavoletti. Okafor is an auxiliary defender in this situation to pack the box.

Theo is 100% culpable for their third goal.

I posted this immediately after that goal: where the hell was okafor. It's mind-blowing how he tracks back nonchalantly during their attack while his mark is 10 meters away from him

Had to miss the first few mins and I see we conceded right away...

@Deep Fried Pizza & Chips thread jinx or what?
We fucking beat Real because of me fucker lol

I'm at a wedding and could only check in now and again.

How was the game?

Did the fucking double pivot implode, again?

Defensive brainfarts?

Typical fodder Seria A team stepping up to face us?

Theo is further in the box along with the the cb's, he is tricked to leave his spot so spaces can be opened and the shooter has the entire view of the goal, with nobody to block.
Very amateur actually.

With Parma i think, happened too.. we left some points there too.
