Juventus have warned Milan that they won’t sign Gigi Buffon at the end of this season. “Dreams don’t always come true,” noted President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli.

The goalkeeper’s future in Turin has been in doubt ever since the club were demoted as part of the Calciopoli probe last summer.

Buffon decided to remain even in Serie B, but he’s since refused to commit himself to the Old Lady of Italian football once this campaign has come to an end with a probable promotion.

This week Milan again suggested that they were willing to sign the shot-stopper should Nelson Dida quit the club, but Cobolli Gigli has told them to look elsewhere for a new No 1.

“Dreams can come true, but that doesn’t always happen,” the Bianconeri official said on Friday afternoon.

“In this case, for example, the reality is that Buffon has a contract with us at Juventus,” he continued.

“Our agreement expires in 2010 and therefore there are obligations which need to be met from both the player and the club.

“But apart from this, we would like Buffon to continue feeling happy in our squad.” (Channel 4)

Exactly. Which means be prepared to say goodbye when Buffon departs next season.

Inorder for that to happen, Juventus need to be serious contenders for the UCL and Scudetto. Next season, that is not the case. So again the only way Buffon would be happy is if he was playing for a good team like Milan. ;)

Milan general manager Adriano Galliani instead said: “Juve know we are interested [in Buffon] but they keep saying they want to keep him. If they decide to sell him, we’ll be there. This however has nothing to do with Dida leaving. He has not signed for anyone, and if he wants, he can come to us and extend his contract.”
It DOESN'T??

Good Lord, the next thing you'll hear from Galliani is that Ronaldo plans to take a vow of celibacy.

(Tutt0sport)

Juve wants €80 million for Buffon... and rejected Milan's offer of €40 million...

both clubs are also discussin' Trezeguet & Gilardino...

well... that's alot of money isn't it? so guys (and gals) remember not to go berserk the next time we don't buy a target... it is not exactly like we didn't try... but rather the requested price was too ridiculous...

We'd be suckers to pay 80 million for Buffon, no matter how good he is. Juventus spent 50 million for him. It's a ripoff.

We'll throw in the 30 million excess if he starts saving penalties. :)

Buffon is the best goalkeeper in the world though he aint worth 80 million euros... If Buffon chooses to leave at the end of the season, Juventus will receive a lot of cash but nowhere near that amount.

Can we say, "Yeah, right"?

Buffon ready to quit Juventus
Gianluigi Buffon has warned Juventus he could seek a summer move after confessing: “I do miss the Champions League.”

“I haven’t actually made a decision on my future yet,” the goalkeeper told Sky Italia television. “Even if I did decide to stay, it is Juve, hardly Canicatti’ in the amateur League. With all due respect, we are still talking about the most important club in Italy.”

Buffon was one of the first to pledge his help to the Bianconeri following their demotion last summer, but also pointed out that he had been ready to move on and seek new motivation before the Calciopoli scandal.

“Lately I am watching the Champions League with a little more interest. I have to admit I do miss it a little bit and feel the desire to compete at that level again.

“That could influence my decision for the future, but it is not everything. If I were to choose a club just for the city life, then I won’t move from Turin. This is a place that allows you to live like a normal person and there aren’t many of those now.”

The World Cup winner has been a named transfer target for Inter, Milan and Real Madrid, but he is keeping his cards close to his chest.

“Objectively speaking, Inter are the strongest side out there at the moment and could win for the next few years, but a choice of club involves so many issues and rapports. You’d have to evaluate thousands of pro and cons.” (Channel 4)

Juve are a lock to return to Serie A next season, and will more than likely finish in a CL spot (let's not kid ourselves). Surely he's smart enough to take that into account. And why would he go to Madrid anyway, when they've got Casillas?

Just have to wait untill the seasons over, i'm sure he will leave, only destination is Milan, Inter just confirmed today that they have full faith in Julio Cesar, just hope Dida plays to the best of his ability and thus we don't need Buffon

Agree with that. ;)
Well, I don't mind to stick with Dida, also Gigi is for me the best goalkeeper.
But if he wants to stay with Juve and we have Dida, everything is okay. :)
I just couldn't stand it when Gigi goes to Inter. This is one of my biggest nightmares and I pray for it not to become true.

IF he goes to Inter, even though I like him a lot and admire his skills, I hope he has the worst season of his life.

Really, if he's an idiot and leave Juventus he deserves that.

I think we can breathe easy for now, because Inter have no intention of parting ways with JC anytime soon. Just the usual tongue-twisting by the press.

Buffon will go to Inter unless we manage to do a Amoroso on Dida or Vogel but I can't see that happening.

That would be pretty slack towards Julio Cesar who has been argueably the best goalkeeper in Serie A this year.

i hope we get buffon, and if we do then dida definatly out and i dunno if kalac can accept 3rd goalie because storari is too good to be 3rd choice, infact speaking of storari, hes a quality keeper, i would feel bad for him because he joined us just to play a couple of games when he could be a starter for some other team... maybe we would offer him for juve along with gila for gigi

I think Buffon talks too much, and he should just shut it for 2 months...
And he is most likely going to stay with Juve
a) He went to Serie B with them, he can have it another year without the CL.
b) Juve's managment in transfers and stuff are anything but idiots...Buffon is still pretty young for being a kepper and they would only sell him till he is like 32-33 (of course taking into account he continues with his quality, and there pretty good options in the market).

Of course, I wouldn't mind a twist in things, and having him in Milanello.

Juventus line up Amelia?

Gianluigi Buffon is again being linked with a Juventus exit after the club were paired with Livorno’s Marco Amelia on Wednesday.

The Italian No 1 may quit the Turin giants at the end of the season and it seems as if Amelia is a prime contender to replace him in between the sticks.

Stories of an Amelia swoop have gathered pace after the youngster underwent a knee scan in Turin on Tuesday, allegedly in the presence of a Bianconeri medic.

The 25-year-old injured his right knee in training while on international duty for Italy ahead of their 2-0 win over Scotland.

Amelia, who signed a new Livorno contract until 2011 in January, has been paired with several clubs ranging from Milan to Liverpool.

Buffon had recently stated that his future was yet to be decided, but whispers in Turin are getting louder that he will complete a transfer to Milan at the end of the season.

The Rossoneri are thought to be still keen on signing the World Cup winner despite Nelson Dida’s recent and costly contract renewal.

Inter could also join the race to sign the ex-Parma No 1 even if they do seem set to offer present shot-stopper Julio Cesar an improved deal after a fine campaign.
