He did not receive many balls that night because he did not try to do look for balls. He waits for the ball all the time, and never chases opponent's defenders.

Gilardino obviously can't cope with the pressure just yet, so Pippo should start our remaining CL games this year IMO. Gilardino can handle the Serie A games, where he's more comfortable(apparently).

I think Pippo should start the second leg ... probably he would have the finish ..and Gila was absent in last game ...it was as if he wasn't present at all ...so Gila who happens to be more successful in serie A would better play there and stay at the bench in CL.

yup...Gila can play in series A were he can combine with ronaldo..he cannot work as a lone striker..
in CL he look cannot control the ball wisely..maybe he dont have experience compare to inzaghi..so inzaghi should play in CL in MU match..

Because Kaka's now playing upfront in the CL i'd go with Gila esp. with that goal against Man U being a huge confidence booster.
Even the biggest of Pippo fans will have to admit he's not half the player he was last season.

If Gila is in better form then , well he should start with Pippo being his sub later in the 2nd half . I think Pippo lacks match fitness as he only plays in CL 2nd Legs so far . He needs to take some part in Serie A matches to regain his form . Ancelotti will evaluate things anyway , it's his job .

im a lpool fan and i would prefer it if gilla played, he is like an english forward and we would deal with him better than inzaghis trickery

IMO Pippo will start for sure, it's what Carlo hinted at various interviews.
Because he's far more experienced than gila, and we can't wait until Gila scores, we need Pippo's experience, his thing.

i havent seen/read much carlo interviews but imo we should start with pippo and if he doesnt do well (which wouldnt be shocking as he never gets to play ) then sure gila can play the second half. But like many said, pippo moves alot more, he is kinda everywhere and gives the defenders some work to do instead of just sitting there, and im sure the loserfool defence would rather have gilardino starting than pippo...but it aint up to them right?
