Milan's savior. Haters feel free to hate, guarantee he'll be strong fixture in squad for next decade and wear the armband.

but seriously, a LOT of raw talent, who was wasted on ******ed loan spells to clubs which did little for him. He's shown good development, expect more of it next year.

good fashion sense too. Which is a requirement to be captain.

abate at his best is shit. he won't be great rb face it. he's fast and that's all. sometimes he creates decent cross but one per match at most. he sucks at tackles and is to be blamed directly for at least 3 goals this season we conceded.

I agree with the bold part hes not gna be a good right back at best i see him as an impact player off the bench on the RIGHT WING not as a full back

I don`t know what people have against him.
He did massive progress this season.
Next 2 years he will be first team player- just based if he keep progressing that fast.
Next 5 years he will have better status then Ambrosini in the team ever head.
Milan needs more players like that. On examples of Borrielo and Antonin you can see that at certain age only playing on loans for shit teams doesn`t develope players anymore.

I wouldn`t be surprised i Abate ends up playing for NT very soon.

I am judging on progress since Ambro started.
Besides till this season he never played that much anyway, not mentioning performance. If anything outstanding performance contributing to trophies - Gattuso not Ambro

I am telling you if Abate stays at Milan he will end up playing for NT.

You don't need to state the obvious (Gattuso/Ambrosini)...

Look, don't get me wrong, I want Abate to stay, but you're expecting quite a lot and Ambrosini is at this point captain for God's sake. He might become a NT player in the next 5 years, but I doubt he ever will get Ambro's status let alone in the next 5 years. What have people against Ambrosini??? :head:

nothing against Ambrosini.
When you look at Milan official website there is Baggio mentioned as a legend.
He is my favourite player ever but for Milan contribytion I take Ambro as a legend over Baggio anytime.

I am just judging on how bright Abate`s future still coud be.

I agree with many of ur comments here. He's not a Cafu/Maicon/Alves kind of quality. But wen compared to the dream signings players Motta/Rafinha etc he's not that far behind those guys inspite of playing this position the first time in his life this year. He is not Milan playing 11 or NT quality now. He's a solid 2nd sub for RB now, but in 1-3 years he can become Milan 11 quality and NT quality for sure.

The problem is how much will he improve if Leo does leave, somehow I think Leo have much faith in Abate and kind of taking care of his development in a very good step by not overusing him

never been a fan of him but yep he will become good ..i think its a matter of confidence and the lack of a stable defence behind him ...once we get tht he could explode ..tbh he has showed some good growth and discipline ...he would do better @ cb than oddo for example because he is so versitile and does the job (mistakes are expected from learning a new position) but ambro has been a beast this season one of his better this season and all the talk about abate not being able to cross ...people were pretty happy with bonera at Rb for a couple of games but he didnt give shite ITO of attack so i think Solid defence will let us give the youngsters freedom to express themselves and only then will we see true potential

The duty of winning

v

05/04/2010 15:39:00

After two weeks of intense work in the far field, Ignazio Abate is ready to return to work with peers. Exterior Rossoneri keeps us in the best way to end the season.

MILANELLO - These declarations by Ignazio Abate , today at Milanello exclusive to Milan Channel:

Ignazio , how are you?
" I'm much better, having done a few days of intense physical work, I hope between now and tomorrow to start working with the team. I trained on Saturday and Monday and my body responded well. "

Saturday night your teammates have won a major victory against Fiorentina.
"Yes, Saturday night the team did a good game. We deserved to win and I think got a better response of the group we did a good league and we want to finish in the best way. "

The race was decided by penalty converted by Ronaldinho.
" I believe that Ronaldinho was one of the architects of this season. It 'been a crucial player on a regular basis during the season with his assists and his performance, especially at home. Ronaldinho makes the difference in games without him we made harder because its quality always takes up two or three opponents and the group is crucial. "

Borriello, however, has been summoned by coach Marcello Lippi.
" I'm happy for his call for the stage in Rome. Mark was my roommate and I hope with all my heart that goes to the World Cup if he deserves and has great potential, I am convinced can do great things in blue. "

There are only two games at the end of the season.
"In the last two games we play against big teams, but we must try to make six points. First, think before the trip to Genoa on Sunday.

For red and blue will be the final race at home and want the best possible finish to the season, but we hold ourselves to permanently close the accounts to gain direct access to the Champions League.

We have a duty to try and go to Genoa to win, we have all the qualities to do so this week we will prepare in the best way. "

Welcome Back Boy :star:

I hope you're right, he was def. better in his last matches before he was out due to injury. Would be great to have him back now as starter, I somehow miss him running up and down the whole match, he's so fast.
If Pato is back too, then we would we have a super fast right side with him and Abate.

OBJECTIVE REACHED

IGNAZIO ABATE:
"At this point, the day's balance becomes positive because despite the defeat, we have reached our objective which was that of reaching the direct qualification for next season's Champions League. Playing without the crowd today was a surreal sensation. Milan played a good first half, then in the second half we went behind and we failed to play our game. Also the heavy pitch penalized us. However, we tried to reach our objective, we tried until the end of the match, also with Marco, but unfortunately we failed to score. For me it was the first time behind closed doors, with the crowd it's a different sensation because they push you, even though there would have been just the opponent's fans. On sunday we will be facing the last match at San Siro against Juventus: both us and the bianconeri don't want to lose, but in front of our fans, Milan don't want to do badly."

No doubt he's improved defensively ... but he's still got a long way to go before being effective offensively. Crossing lessons are in order.

fast and strong but not good in reading the game and crosses and yet have to defend well, love that prick attitude but without being a good player it looks shit on him, hope he grows more as a fb though i dont had high hopes but.... , anyway we have to give youngsters a chance. he fights for the shirt good but we want a great fullback please raise the bar mr abate or we are screwed .

future of milan defense 2:06 :D(wanking on future anto abate partnership :proud:)

i like anto better now :)

Milan, Genoa hypothesis for Abate 07/12/2010

Milan, Genoa hypothesis for Abate

07/12/2010 16:30 Peter Mazzara

Could portend a season away from Milan for Ignazio Abate. The possible arrival of Brazilian Felipe Mattioni the Rossoneri could force the outside to look for an alternative solution to the Rossoneri and in this context could be a Genoa, always looking outside who can play the 3-4-3 of Gasperini. Involvement of the Griffon was also announced by Mr Christian Ruiu in his service to QSVS News.

No and No and No, Abate is RMF and Felipe Mattioni is RB/RW

Abate >>>>>>>>>>>>> Felipe Mattioni

honestly, unless we buy a obvious upgrade, there is no reason to buy just another guy that might be good. Abate was not that bad last year, and it was his first year at RB and at Milan. Keep him, let him get a chance to grow here. Plus Zambrotta is a great mentor and I think he still can play well in the big games.

Mattioni is just a rumour, and Abate was our 2nd youngest squad player last year. We need to give him trust and let him grow more next season. He is ok squad player. But if we sell Jankulovski I would like us to get Mattioni for cheap, and rotate him with Abate.

I think our best RB has to be Bonera. Such a pity he was out injured for most of last season. Abate will provide good enough cover, especially since both Zambro and Antonini can play on both flanks. Its no secret that we should be in the market for a LB ... I'd say we're covered at RB for now. LB very much more a priority.
