Knee injury for Pirlo

According to CNN & Eurosport, Andrea Pirlo suffered a knee injury in the Milan derby and will out for around 10 days. The club site informed of the injury but not any time scale.

We've struggled this season without Pirlo so this is a worrying development.

Maybe Rui can play in the deep lying playmaker role for the next couple of games??

Damn straight. I know Rui is not as good as he used to be, but for god sakes he does a damn good job of holding up the ball and get's some really clever chips in.

In the Supercup game against Lazio Rui played in Pirlo's position and did a damn good job. If Carlo puts in Ambro again i'm going to saw his balls off

MILANO - Andrea Pirlo picked up an injury to his left knee in the game against Inter. The midfielder had treatment on Thursday morning and his situation will be evaluated again on Friday.

I think Rui would be the best replacement but Ancelotti could also go with Dhorasoo. He hasn't seen action in a very long time.
Hopefully Ambrosini won't fill the role. He plays very well when he starts in place of Gattuso but he is woeful when he plays defensive mid (or deep playmaker).

Ambro was given the chance to play in Pirlo's place in two games (Livorno and Reggina) both away games and probably the two worst midfield performances by Milan.As far as Rui goes I don't think he'll respond well when he's put under constant pressure in that deep playmaker role,Vikash looks like the better choice to me,although Carlo doesn't seem to like him too much.Vikash seemed to be physicly superior to Rui, at least to me, in those games he did play in.Anyway niether of them can really replace Pirlo.

Pirlo is a huge loss but I think Rui Costa could do a fairly good job in his place. He just signed a new contract and i am sure he is determined to prove his worth in the side.

Ambro is by far the better tackler, but that deep position is perfect for Rui to distribute, and even at his age, he is more than capable of the bueatifully delicate assist. Plus, Rino will be doing all of the tackling, so Rui isn't too much of a liability here.

I don't even think Vikashia plays for Milan any longer, so he is out of the question.

LOL. I agree wholeheartedly. Thank god Rino is there to tackle and clean up 'cos I doubt if Rui has made a tackle since grade school.

Yes whatever happened to that Incredible Indian Vikash Dhorasoo? Now that we're out of the all important Coppa Italia, we never get to see him anymore.
