November 25, 1992. CL Game Milan 4 vs IFK Gothenburg 0. San Marco scored all 4 goals. As part of the 20th year celebration of the game, MvB was invited by Galliani to attend the match vs Juve.

Maybe he should attend all of Milan's game from now on. So after he finished the Dutch League game, he'd hop in Berlusconi's private jet and head to Milan.

I really wish I could go back in time and watch him play again with better understanding about how graceful and beautiful he was. When he was on top, as much as I loved Milan, I was only a young teenager and all I cared about was whether Milan will win or not or if he would score. That's it. With internet and DVDs nowadays, I now have a chance to really watch him again. Press the rewind button, slow it down, simply just watched him move with or without the ball. So lucky to support Milan when he was on top.

Van Basten's playing days were a bit before my time. However i just watched the "Footballs greatest" documentary on him. I can honestly say he was a complete player, what a legend! .... And to think he nearly joined inter!

Thursday August 28 2014 Van Basten health problems

Milan legend Marco van Basten has mysteriously left the AZ Alkmaar bench for “severe symptoms.”

The Dutch club released a vague statement noting Van Basten will be away “unexpectedly longer than first expected.

“The Coach is struggling because of personal matters for some time with physical discomfort. These symptoms may be so severe that in the short term he is not able to competently carry out his work.

“Van Basten will miss this Saturday’s away match with FC Dordrecht. AZ sends Marco and his family strength.”

It’s not clear how long Van Basten will be away from the AZ bench for or what is causing these severe symptoms.

Italian media have suggested both cardiac problems and depression.
