Zirkzee will worth 50 million in the summer.
Not doable.

This season , Pioli was completely wrong with the tactics and many times his sub choices were horrible.
But tonight, I have a feeling that he made the right subs.

He is not to blame we have amateurish penalty takers. He can not enter the game and make a shot from the spot.
It is just that twice in a game to miss a penalty is not allowed for a serious team.

At the end- Giroud should stop taking penalties and Theo must not be 2nd choice.

Both penalties were horribly taken.

It’s a technicality that makes sense because it opens up a lot of edge cases if we make an exception for it. The rules are better if they stay simple and consistent.
What edge cases could possibly arise from this? Penalties are very straight forward with very little grey area.

it is indeed very simple and logical rule. Rebound from the post not touched by any other player but the penalty taker is forbidden. It is treated like a pass to the self . Simple...

He has the ability to play at Mbappe's level, but he's just a copy of Balotelli, it seems. That's how the whole career goes in hopefuls. But she sings songs and writes books....multitouch
Mbappes level i doubt. Maybe a level under that.
But atm hes really not worth his value. Whole season of him is just bad, okafor or chukwueze wont do worse then him

No, he cannot take PK's but he can better prepare his team to take PK's. If you disagree I have nothing else to say. OG is the only PK taker under Pioli, if he insists that he has more than one PK taker then too bad we never know of them. I could tell people I own 10 houses without showing the houses.

If he thinks he will only need one PK taker ever, I also have nothing else to say. Shit will happen and you will need more than one PK taker.

That PK incident was a total fuck up from every single one of them.

1706397807246.png

Kjaer, Mike and Florenzi letting that ball pass them by as if they were 100% sure no Bologna player is there to tap it in.

Kjaer even does the arms out gesture to give the signal to "let the ball go out/don't touch it" as you do when you're sure that the opponent can't reach it.

Florenzi covering no one in the middle, while giving up lots of space on the flank for someone to rush in, just like Kristiansen did.

Basically what we've seen with our defending of set pieces and crosses into the penalty area since...forever, even before bioli, but became much worse during his tenure.

Zero plan, cohesion or thought when it comes to defending as a unit.
This is as big of an issue at Milan as the injury crisis is.

The funny thing is his players do not seem to know how to take a PK accordingly to the rules.

If Theo is the second PK taker in the hierarchy I will find it even funnier.
He'll be twenty-five in four months. It's time to set priorities, are you a football player, singer or writer

My honest opinion? All on the players.

2 Pens missed
We had 7-8 v 2 bologna players in the box still not being able to defend it.
Took a goal lead in 80 something minute should have just play it calmly.
Terracciano is NOT JUST A KID MAKING HIS DEBUT IN AN IMPORTANT MOMENT ( YES HE IS YOUNG BY AGE BUT ALREADY HAS 2 FULL SERIE A SEASONS SO HE GOT A LOT OF GAMES IN HIM).

funny how no one mention theo at first goal, he didnt run back and cover fabian until there was 100% zirike will pass to fabian, sittuation would turn completly different
Exactly. The first goal is on Theo. He just casually jogged back when he saw that Bologna launched the ball behind the space he should have covered. Than he was late to block Zirkzee's shot. He missed a penalty. In the second goal he was brutally beaten in 1-on-1, which lead to the cross. Theo was terrible yesterday.

It's because a penalty stops being a penalty the moment the ball is struck but the player that shoots can't shoot touch it twice. It's already a very unique case that's rarely important. You can't legislate a unique case for it without making the rules unnecessarily complex. Where do you draw the line? At what point does a penalty stop being a penalty where special rules apply? It starts to get into too much of a grey area just to 'solve' this one problem, which honestly isn't really a problem.

It's a rare case, sure. I don't think it makes it complex at all. That's the thing. It's literally as simple as applying the same rules to the post as to the keeper. There are other rules that have much more unnecessary grey area.

If you could provide examples of how this affects "where you draw the line" then by all means. But honestly, at the top of my head I cannot think of any. This isn't like an offside where there is an intangible vs tangible advantage given by an arbitrary distance that the attacker is in front of the defender. It's far more black and white.

The rules of the game don’t give the frame of the goal any special rules in the ifab rules of the game. They only mention them in the field of law 1.10 under goal, where it lays the dimension and material of the goal frame. Giving it a technical influence on the rules of the game makes everything exponentially more complex since you’re adding another variable. Things are just a lot simpler legally by just ignoring the goal frame as an entity.

I don’t know what edge cases there are (that’s why they’re edge cases, it’s hard to anticipate them) but one could be that a players could hit the ball to the post on purpose to give himself a one two to score. Another could be offside rules related to the post, does it restart a move? That’s the ruling you want on penalties so why make an exception for offsides? If you do then you’re differentiating moments in play that are part of the penalty, and then others where it’s regular play. Where does the line end? It’s a grey area.

The penalty post thing is clear as day. It is not a contentious thing and as soon as it happened I called it out myself: "If it came right back to Theo, it won't count, he's touched it twice in a row".

It's the same as a player slipping. It is not the problem.

The problem is the fact we missed two penalties in one match.

I am done grieving.

The second place is the only realistic target left in Serie A. Fight Juve for it and we will hopefully get an easier group in the CL.

Management did not take into the considerations of CL seeding when they set targets for the team.

Ranking in the second, third or fourth place does not win you the Scudetto but it makes a huge difference when you go to the CL.

What I'm trying to say is the targets of top 4 Serie A and qualifying for the round of 16 of the CL are not supporting of one another. Ranking fourth will make you end up in a "group of death" which will heavily lower the chance of qualifying for the round of 16. You will have to manage more challenging matches and injuries happen more often in intense moments. For someone like Pioli who gets complacent easily, when he sees "top 4" he will probably take it as "the 4th place" and once the third place is fairly secured he will get complacent and as a result his players will also get complacent and lose focus. Do not say the coach's attitude/mentality does not have an influence on the players. He shows himself through his players, rule applies to all coaches.

He cannot deliver results when he is not under pressure and/or under fire. The team are so low on liveliness.
