It really lived up to the hype, amazing card. (well minus the china on china hug fest )Impressed by both Max and Alex - what a card UFC 300 was.
Who else has unified championships in multiple weight classes?
It’s like with all other professional sports, this is what happens when it gets mainstreamGot curious and took a look at the UFC roster. Who watches this shit lol?? How did they manage to fuck up like this?
@Curupira
Uhmmm no man... Other sports been mainstream for a while. Football just recently went shit.It’s like with all other professional sports, this is what happens when it gets mainstream
I watch my old Pride Grand Prix dvds when I get a mma fix![]()
People fight different when they don’t give a fuck about winning and is purely about kicking the guys ass or getting the definitive nod like KO or subs. And if they don’t get it, the score is there to just judge how the fight went. Establishing the scoring system was important for the legitimacy of the sport, but it’s also made it so boring to watch.Uhmmm no man... Other sports been mainstream for a while. Maybe the world don't produce talent anymore. Just pure athletes.
And while I'm writing this I just realized when UFC went to shit.
USADA!!![]()
You're right, back then it was mostly people wanting to beat the shit out of each other. Greater personalities, and more specialized in their craft. Fighters have really become MMA fighters not and few really stand out.People fight different when they don’t give a fuck about winning and is purely about kicking the guys ass or getting the definitive nod like KO or subs. Nowadays, people try to game the score and try to do the least as possible. It arrived at this point sooner for mma than other sports bc the wear and tear on the body is a lot greater. It provides a lot more incentive to win by risking little (meta strategies) and financially maximizing your earnings by leveraging your record.
USADA definitely was a factor. And Dana tried that stupid bad ass mfer belt to get folks interested again, but it felt gimmicky af and like I rather just see the “bad ass” fighters who are in there to kick ass instead of using the system to win on under cards and consistently still give them fights.
If you look at old Pride events, some guys lost all the time but always gave it their all so their career was never in jeopardy.You're right, back then it was mostly people wanting to beat the shit out of each other. I think quality went up.Do you believe the quality have dropped as well or are these nobodies better?
