Decent warm up for the real games ahead and well taken goals all round. A good sign is that roles are well defined and the players stayed within their roles. Promising. Needs work but it is early days.

Tactically, I didn't like the game, different than in pre-season, the space in the middle still happened like last year. But let's say they haven't trained all together.

Musa-Adli as double pivot a big NO, Please just bring a player who played in double pivot stop buying ball carries im tired of them.

Chuk is pissing me off, I want to believe in him but I can't, same with Tomori, I started hating him, he looks so lazy, no fire on him, fucking bambi.

I've called him "Serb card magnet" since the rumours started for a reason lol.

Random thoughts throughout the game… Pobega is still a dinosaur. Pavlovic is our best CB. Zeroli ain’t a RB. Theo and his cornrows are still on vacation. Through-passes to Chucky are abysmal. Torriani is a solid back-up, hopefully less of a snake, than former GK. Jovic can touch the ball once, and still score. Jimenez is ready for first team-minutes.
We need CM/DM and perhaps a third CF - preferably with some speed. Doubting how much the team has improved from last season.
Hopefully, some of the new players from last season, will show growth, adapting to both league and chemistry.

The game was disjointed and weird. The fact that we open up the season in a few days can't help, who wants to push themselves and tweak something before the season starts?

Lots of players who haven't spent time together, a game that doesn't mean anything, just some minutes in the legs, that sorta thing--I don't want to take too many things away from preseason games, but I have one concern: do the passing patterns that we displayed in the US games only work when the other team is pressing us and trying to bring the game to us?

My concern is that we don't look like we know what we want to do when we have the ball, and that we are the more dominant team. That worries me. Today looked like a Pioli-coached game. Again, maybe it's all the things we talked about: preseason, etc etc. I hope that's it, but what I worry about is that we have not seen what Fonseca plans to do when we have the ball. Not yet. Because so far? It looks like Pioli.

Exactly. There will be games where the striker gets to touch the ball once. We need that once to be a +1 scoreline in our favor.

Jovic can't help but score, bless him.

He will sniff out a few goals but I still have reservations about his season long effectiveness. He took his goal well tonight.

After tonight’s game there are other small areas where several players need to be sharper, more aware and careful about their actions.

Pavlovic cannot be throwing his weight around like that or he will be seeing a lot of yellow cards and at least a couple of red cards. He also lost his man in the box once or twice against a better side that will be punished.

The play is still reminiscent of Pioli, there were times where the players either fell into old habits or were uncertain what to do when they had possession.

But it is early days and Fonseca has a full season to get the team clicking and playing as an organised team knowing their game plan inside out.

Let’s see how it develops.
