Are all you Abate<3birds happy now?

Albmovi deserves a ban for that post alone.

Maybe if he wasn't rusting on the bench he would've done better. Urby was the one who couldn't clear the ball properly eventually giving them the corner. Oh well time to hate on him from everyone else I guess. Idiots.

Hardly his fault they scored, it wasnt a great header, definitely not, but the sent the ball 30 feet into the air, costa still managed to wait for it to drop and have time to make it a powerful header. Fucking Bonera stood beside him and did nothing.

Had momets of really good play, and, its his first time playing in quite some time for nearly the full game.

I've been of fan of abate, but his skill set is limited and he is no longer as fast as he once was and not as tenacious on the defensive end as he once was.

If he we can sell him too russia we should, because realistically he wont improve.

That being said I dont even think Des is the permenant starting option Atm(more time).

Milan needs to elite fullbacks to give us more width and attacking options.

I do not hate Abate is just a poor clearance followed by the ineptitude of Bonera. I agree that Urby was killing us the second half thinking that he is Maradona and that he has to come out from our defense passing every player that is in front of him.

Reality is that Abate is very limited. He has achieved his ceiling. He is not terrible at all but people thinking that he may get better is pretty absurd.

Im not sure either his crossing improve or it just because he was aiming for Balotelli,no one can challenge him in aerial threat.

A failed clearance that forced an opponent to wait for the ball to drop out of the air that wasn't marked and suddenly it's his fault we lost and his whole performance was poor.

After watching DES on regular basis and seeing Abate today I have (once again) realized what a headless chicken he is.

we lost 1-0 not 3-0.

A failed clearance is a margin on which UCL legs are decided.

It's not fair to blame the loss on him

After De Sciglio he still our best fullback

This. The criticism is completely uncalled for. It's not like he passed it to Diego Costa. It had a 1/1000 chance of falling to someone who could put it in.

Someone skipped their probability class.

Okay, tell me what you think the odds were that a ball like that would randomly fall for Atletico?

And 'probability class'? That's stretching...

Alright lets see. It's not that hard to determine.

This is the goal. Abate heads it backward.

What is the chance it randomly falls to an Atletico player.

Hmmm there are 4 atletico players behind him, 5 milan defenders behind him, + 1 goal keeper.

So the probability his backwards header would fall to an atletico player is 4/10

I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Abate's header back was totally intentional, right?
The ball dropping like that from the air was pre-planned, right?
Also assuming the 18 yard box, let alone the pitch, are literally players...?

Taking other variables into account other than the players on the pitch might help with more practical problems in the future :o

So please show me all the variables you took into account when you came up with a probability of 1/1000. I am quite intrigued with the math behind it.

Or you pulled a number out of your.... ?

If Balo didnt get injured he clears that shit easy. Not trying to shit on Abate because usually he is defensivley sound, but he should have done much better here.

It's a shame about the misjudged header, because he played very well otherwise.

Do people forget his goalbound clearance? That sweet cross in the first half, i haven't seen the other fullbacks do that recently.

Yes, I pulled the number out of my ass. There is no possible way of quantifying the variables such as the bath of the ball, angle of impact on Abate's head etc and come to some meaningful conclusion. But to simplify the probability to that extent is ridiculous. And the last time I worked extensively with numbers was in high school lol... It's pure common sense.

Are your posts always full of shit?

Hahaha, you're dumb.

Expand please. I'm dumb because I realise that there was a MASSIVE amount of luck involved in Diego Costa's goal? AND that Abate played well besides that incident?

The angle the ball was coming from it would be been tough to get a clean clearance (although he could have done better)

However, he did put the ball over the majority of the Athletico players who would have had a chance at the ball. Costa was able to blow past Bonera like he wasnt even there. If he doesnt get a free run, they dont score there...

first of all I'm not saying Abate did good with the goal
but he's not the only one who made a mistake

As a defender it's better to hit the ball wrong then don't hit it at all
So he hits the ball obviously wrong (mistake 1) and it bounce slowly in the air

Since it was slowly there was time enough for Abbiati to come out his goal and catch the ball
but he did not, he just stayed on the goal line (mistake 2)
(why is no one talking about that??)

Rami was marking Costa, after the ball bounced in the air he did let him go
and he let him completely free (mistake 3)

Also Bonera let Miranda completely free, If Rami blocked Costa on time then there was Miranda to finish it

to me Abbiati made unacceptable mistake, 2nd worst one was Rami and 3rd Abate
still all three could have avoid it, but Abate got unlucky it was not an easy ball

so all your opinions are BS :o
