Maggio isn't a RB. He only works well in 3-5-2 and now that they're playing with Milan's system we get Abate starting.

This is the moment were he became the number 1 right-back of Italy for the next years.

Ironically, he did a great cross in the second half

awkward moment when 90% of the people who bashed on abate and calling for milan to sell him are now praising his performance

He'll always do that in NT, not when he play for Milan.

Maybe cause Milan doesn't really have good headers (no Cassano scoring off one header today and Zlatan scoring in a game vs Roma back in October doesn't mean they're good headers, they're movement inside the box is usually awful and they simply don't jump). Only good forward with his head in Milan is Pato (who's movement sucks, but his heading technique is actually really good).

Abate's cross for Boa via Juve in the friendly??? Noone remembers that?

Also it's kind of hard to cross when theres no attackers in the box half the time...

we also have no one who can score with his head for milan (cassono just does this for the NT)

We only have Pato, but Pato isn't as tall as Sheva/Crespo/Ibra etc.

Thing with Ibra is he doesnt play like a true #9, he played as a Trequartista making runs from deep and creating play for our midfielders or second strikers to score. The only time Ibra played in the box was in the beginning of the season when Aquilani was in magnificent form with Cassano/Boa and Nocerino.

we lack a true CF that moves like a CF and gets in good heading positions. if we had one, Abate's crossing would look much better.

it seems like many ppl expect his crosses to be like Rossoneri seeking missles that weave through defenses to find our player's heads. He puts the ball in dangerous places, a real CF would do better at running on to those balls

AHAHHAHAHAHHA For those that wanted to get Van der Wiel for 5 MILLION! HAha and thought it was a good deal, He is shit, Abate had a poor season but that was terrible from Van der Wiel. He got ripped every single game! HAHAHA Dumb people

umm...not to underrate Abate's performance or anything

But VDW was up against Ronaldo, Abate was up against Ireland

We still have to wait and see if he can keep this up against the big dogs

Why do people somehow think he had a good game? Apparently by his standards if he doesn't assist the opponent's forward or at least gift him a penalty, then he did an okay job.

He did nothing really, defended well but Balzaretti completely outshone him. Went forward twice all game.

Abate was also up against Ronaldo in the CL and made him eat shit...

That was with the help of Gattuso, and happened once. I see your argument, but I got one word to counter it: Milito.

Also add Van Persie to the list. I remember Abate once dispossessed him of the ball, which in forum world, over a period of time, evolves into the concept of 'made him eat shit'. :D

And it's not like Bale didn't start both games against us due to injury , or that Nesta was the one who completely owned messi. No no, it was all Abate.
