It was not that surprising really; because let's face it, it's not the first time Germany sends a bunch of blokes to the showers in tears

I was out celebrating my NT's arrival. Rumours were spreading 2-0, just 10 secs later 3-0, 30 later 4-0, when I got to refresh my livescore app cause that sounded impossible 5-0.

The later 2 were lets call them your typical adding salt to the wound, but those 5.

So I just got back home, decided to watch the first 30 mins. I can't really understand this performance. I wanna say its all Germany, but that defensive performance is outrageous that its impossible to not make it the focus.

I guess I expected Germany to win it, sweating it, even by a 2 goal difference, cause I do honestly feel Luiz needs someone to lead him, and not him be the leader. But this just goes beyond that logic. Felipao should've demanded Luiz to not go up like an idiot after the 3rd goal or tell someone to play injured and regroup, at least not make it worse than 3-0, pack the d, make a sub. Of course its hard to judge how you react to 5 minutes like that.

Sven's point is right though. This team was being run by emotions. And they were on a very dangerous breaking point. I just didnt imagine it would be this bad. But really, I felt the Luiz going up like an idiot was more like desperation "oh no they're 2-0, need to attack and win, it doesn't matter how, just up, lets go" "if Marcelo and Maicon stop this attack and pass me the ball we can start a counter attack and surprise them no need to go help them when I can help up!"

Even though I would've liked a Brazil Argentina final as the tournament went on, earlier I thought this Brazil team wasn't going to get to the finals, not exactly because they lacked quality, but because in general they were too inexperienced in intense games, and didnt have qualifiers to build character on that. A bit of that played part today (even the experienced boys dont have much experience in qualifiers, bar Maicon and JC).

Lack of a DM, or a more cohesive defensive midfield unit like the one Dunga built in 2010 (I dont know if they had it) was another point. Not having someone control David Luiz played the biggest role in the final score (could have still been loss, just a more flattering one).

For his work since 2006, Jogi Low probably deserves the world cup more than any other coach. And after Spain, this German bunch are the most deserving over the same time-frame as well. Just one more match if they can manage not to choke.
Not if he's called Jogi, no one who people referre to as Jogi deserves anything. Though the rest of your point is right. It would be a huge let down if this german generation goes out w/o a trophy (specially after this win).

Germany deserves more focus on this score, but its just hard to look at this...I mean even their players at the end were shocked.

The squad selection was wrong and the player usage was poor.

Luiz is better off play DM than he is CB.

Telling Diego Costa that he would be Fred's backup...

I actually think a 3-4-1-2 would have suited them best-

--------------Alves-----------
----Dante----Silva---Miranda---
-Ramires--Luiz---Gustavo----Marcelo--
----------------Oscar-----------------------
-------Costa-------------Neymar---------

To me looked like Luiz was going up to chase free runners, cause Germany was running through and destroying Brazil midfield like it was French infantry at Maginot line (sorry)... It was wrong but points to midfield weakness. After the second though, it was a collective breakdown

Well, that was an epic mental breakdown of Brazil team. It was all there in the despair against Chile and the absolutely over the top reaction to Neymar injury.

Anyway, its Germany who needs to be praised. Historic win in a flawless performance. Its a great generation we all saw growing and choking (but learning)... Now theyre ready to win

"Ready to win" sums it up perfectly. Everyone, perhaps with the exception of Ozil, has looked much more ruthless than they have in the past.

Fernandinho was culpable in at least three of the first four goals if I'm not mistaken (Although I haven't seen them since). The first goal he missed an interception right in front of the defense and in the second he lost the ball right after kickoff.

They were all bad, but imo he was the worst cause he was bad from the first minute till he was taken off, and alot of the ensuing badness was simply a collapse for alot of players.

And btw, Brazil, this is what you get for not calling up more Inter than Milan players.

Fernandinho as such is so mediocre. No idea why he is appreciated by some.

As I said a long time ago here, Mano Menezes should have never been fired.
